two things ... first.. pulling up.. such an aggressive plant.. rarely works ... and often causes it to multiply ... you might want to rethink your effort .. until you have an ID ... i would drip roundup.. on cut stumps and insure killing it ... i try to work hard.. only once ... [unless of course.. you are sure you are getting most all of the roots on a given plant] second ... other types of vines like to hide in large ramblers.. and i am thinking poison ivy in particular ... be careful when doing such.. be sure to be able to ID such ... a call to your COUNTY extension office.. might get you a fast ID ... if its as common as you think.. or even carry in a leaf ... they may also have ideas for eradication ... ken

Picked up my order from county conservance yesterday. Today I open the pack to plant them and surprise - all plants are thrown together, not bundled or color marked or identifiable. Haven't got a clue which is which. I ordered tree, shrub, vine. Plant counts dont match the count of my order and the bare roots are so tiny in some cases I havent a clue how to sort some of them. Called up and got answering machine. Called up the district forester who said "they didnt identify them? you'll have to contact them.' The quality is nowhere like the New Hampshire plants. I dont have the energy to drive back there. Got to go to work soon. To think I put off having the car fixed on my day off to end up like this. Arggggggghhh!

I'm in my mid-fifties and offer my two cents : ) . We built a house a few years ago, and my parents went through a long-distance new house project before the existence of the internet, which at the time involved a lot of faxes lol. Some architects, especially in mid- or later-career, decide to work by themselves, sometimes from home. This can mean that they're older, and also don't have the same sort of overhead costs, which also means there's not the same pressure to have a website (or an up-to-date website) and social media with all the bells and whistles; that can also mean no Houzz presence. I know several smaller architects who take just a few projects every year and are so busy through word of mouth that they don't need to advertise. The upside to to all of this is that they might be more in line with your budget, so for that reason I wouldn't be so quick to discount those with "crummy websites and/or very limited web presence". What is on the upper level? Is that space included in the 800 s.f. ? Make any desirable changes before moving in. Consider an architect.
