Pea gravel on top of hardpan?! I wouldn't remove it because it sounds like you may have to depend on it for providing drainage - in fact, you may want to add more gravel to so that you have 1 1/2 to 2" depth to insure good drainage. Build your lasagna on top, and give it an edging so that you will have extra depth. In fact, I'd give it two edgings - one that rises 6" to 8" above ground level, and another snugged horizontally on the ground for your mower wheels so that you won't add trimming to your chore list. 40 feet is quite a length so start at one end, and expect to do only one or two 3' squares at a time. You will be amazed at the sheer volume of material required to build a proper lasagna -- followed by amazement at the comparatively thin layer of rich soil it becomes after a while. This is assuming your 3x40 bed is meant for annuals and/or perennials. If you have hopes of miniature or dwarf fruit trees, then yes, you'd better remove the gravel and then pick-axe at least 2 feet down to provide room for the roots to spread. OTOH, miniature trees do reasonably well in humongous pots and very well in raised beds that provide at least 12" inches soil below the root ball.

i went to boneyard. inspected several cars. all had QC fittings with 2 o-rings. where did my 2nd o-ring go? its o-ring, spacer, 2nd o-ring, thicker plastic locking collar. came apart easily with small screwdriver assistance. put parts back into my fitting body and filter does not leak. every fitting i removed from filters at junkyard came apart with ease. why did the one on my car pull apart? just life i guess.

Karen, sorry that you are having such a bout with depression. That seems to be one more of the gifts fibro has bestowed on us. I think it is all fibro related, except the grieving for your DD. I have simular eposides with the blues when I literly have to will myself to move. I told my Dr. one time that when I was so down that I actually resented having to go to the bathroom. It is really funny how much we all have in common. I think we all married brothers. Sunday the 14th, my kids were home too celebrate mine and my sons BD. Remember thoose halloween plates and mugs that I found last year. Well I found some plastic orange and green stemmed glasses awhile back and decided to do a halloween table for the little GKs since I had four little ones and 4 place settings. I dug out some green placemats, used my black plate stand that I made with a black plate and a spray painted candle holder and was really feeling proud of myself. Well, Grayson and Ashton fell asleep right before lunch and the other two were afraid of the plates. OH well. My one grown GD, Ashton's mom really liked them. I will have to remember her in my will! LOL I have out a few fall/ halloween things; but before Thanksgiving it will be wreath time again so there's not much point in dragging our more. Then it will be Christmas! I had DH helping me get to the bins in our storage building up on the mountain Sat. If you remember, I was like Yatcher last year and had my Sons (2) piled in on me and I couldn't even get to my favorites. DH ask me if I thought I had enough after about the 6th bin and I told him I thought we might ought to stop at a yard sale or two on the way home. Like you, I am really enjoying pinterest. Your little halloween houses are a must for next year. I know I have some of those little houses packed away in my bins from before I started collecting the larger pieces, so when I get to them, they will be left in my to do stach. Can you put your door to the upper left corner of your plan, at the one window where the shower is now? Then move your shower to the upper wall, along that wall, turned 90 degrees. Then your vanity on the opposite wall from its current location. Do you need an enclosed toilet room? Is there going to be a sliding pocket door on the toilet room? Or will there be a knee wall? Will the toilet be easily accessible if you need a wheel chair or walker? I just think about accessing the toilet safely in case one needs assistance of another. Another issue, your shower seems awfully large. Do you need a 6'x10' shower? That shower is larger than my bathroom I'm redoing and I have a toilet, 5' tub, several cabinets and a 36"x18" vanity. I will be able to wheel a chair into my layout if I need to.... WAIT, your measurements are way off. When I compare your old plan I see that your new plan is 6" per square, instead of the 1' per sq in your old plan. Am I right?
