I have OP Spaghetti Squash. Attached the only photo I have of them, bottom picture. Early in the season, did not take photos of ripe fruit. Each plant yielded about 7 squash between 18"-24" x 6" seeds harvested only from the largest of fruit. Will trade for cow tit tomato :) Please let me know, LC

Hi Greenjeans402, I would love to trade for Bells of Irland Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy, Correnta Spinach and I am also interested in 3 of your sweetpeas; Dolly Varden, Streamer blue and streamer Orange. My list is at http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/catrina if you would like to take a look. I do have egyptian onion sets available now too. Thanks, Catrina

Last year I tried to winter-sow some. I didn't have good luck, but last year was not good for anything, because of the constant rain. I'm not sure how good germination was, but I did lose several things after germination. In other words, I don't know if I had poor germination on the BoI and therefore didn't have any, or if I had decent germination and then lost the seedlings. Anyway, I am trying again this year. No germination yet, but it's still early. I'll let you know how things turn out. Won't help you much for this year but maybe for next year? Good luck with whatever way you use! :) Dee

I was just reviewing the literature and it says that Bells of Ireland need both cold stratification and light to germinate so this does create some extra challenges. I surface sowed Bells of Ireland on March 5 and I got some germination but not nearly as high a percentage as I planted. I think many of my seeds washed away or got covered too deeply in some heavy rains we had. I think Thinman's idea of protecting them with row cover is a good one. I'm going to sow a second planting a little later and I think I'll see if I can get the seeds to begin germination indoors and then plant them out when I see a radicle appear. (I've got the next batch of seeds in a damp container in the fridge now.)
