Karen, you are right that fulva 'Europa' is very hard to set seeds on. Stout appparently made thousands of crosses to get just a few seeds. There are, however, other varieties of fulva that will set seeds with tets (and not just rarely, but quite often). We never get very many seeds in a pod and many seeds eventually go bad in storage, but we get a fair few. In fact, this year we have 308 seeds from fulva varieties to play with. The varieties that we use are fulva cypriana, 'Korean,' 'Hankow,' 'Switzerland,' and 'Yunnan'. These varieties of fulva do not bloom as early as 'Europa' so their offspring are more midseason bloomers. 'Hankow' blooms late for us. Nancy

Groups of adults are rarely members of the same household. Your question to me is fair but in return, what made you think they WERE from the same household? I wasn't there and you were, so I'll defer to what you saw. The explosion of cases in Texas beginning a few weeks after Memorial Day suggests that there were a lot of careless and unsafe public interactions in many places and your photo seemed to show that. Maybe not. If people were generally seen by the authorities to be keeping away and at safe distances from one another, why was it thought to be necessary to close the beaches? No need to answer that, it's a rhetorical question. The topic of the thread is Galveston and so I'm not picking on this part of the country or Texas specifically. The same problem of irresponsible behavior and carelessness is happening in my area too.

This is a big one of mine and I only remembered because two books arrived the other day. When I order a book & there's nothing on the description that says it's a biography, I sometimes skip it. Not that I don't like biographies but some tend to rattle on the same boring topic too long. My much anticipated books arrived, and they're both biographies. I thought I ordered historical fiction (based on fact). The late Sharon Kay Penman is the type of historical fiction I read. I learn more sometimes than biographies.
