I've taken a few night shots too with old camera and look forward to trying it with this one. The macro with this camera is 150 cm (W) (0.4 in.Â1.6 ft. (W)). I was right down on the flowers. There is a lot to read in these manuals, I just plod along and practice. It's a learning experience and a fun one at that. treefrog ~ I've also tried to capture the color of the blue sage with old camera and never could. There are a couple of roses I had the same trouble with, so I hope they come out truer with this new camera as the blue sage did. Evelyn ~ You are so right about picture taking being addicting, almost as addicting as some flowers are. : -) Ambersky ~ I looked up what you thought the purple unknown might be and I'm not sure. Someone else told me something else and that didn't quite look right either. I'll try to get out tomorrow to take a picture of leaves and flowers so you all can see the whole thing. You could be right though. Nancy ~ It is a long time isn't it? I think of you everytime I'm around the two roses you gave me, Smith's Parrish, and I think the name of the other one is Old Blush, which is in the main garden and doing terrific. Thank you again for giving them to me. It was nice meeting you also and having a little visit at 2Jay's. I've worked at my job yesterday and again today, so haven't been out to take more pictures. Don - I looked at every reference I could fine on Nightlife, and went back over to her house and took a close look at BHN15, and I believe you'v nailed it for me. If with that much scrutiny I couldn't say it isn't, I could say it is. It's Mommy and Daddy don't care what I call their kid. And the plant is not likely to be used for breeding thoroughbreds. Thanks much. Amazingly we've gotten the two of the four I expected would be the hardest, the solid green ones. Very quickly too, I might add. I still need the two variegated ones and felt they would be picked up quickly. The one I feel is a mini, but the few responses all from highly experienced collectors all feel is a Tiara, has me going. I looked at a lot of Tiara photo I could find and my own Golden Tiara. None has the really tight mounding of BHN32 and all give larger numbers regarding plant and leaf size. I've downloaded two lists from myhosta.com of all hosts with Tiara in its name and with Mouse in its name,and I am going to do spreadsheets of each to compare with BHN32. It may not be productive, but I expect to learn something I don't know. And when I am done it might in fact be Diamond Tiara as Steve said. So I mean no disrespect to anyone. BHN34 is so beautifull. I expected a whole bunch of experienced hostaholics to jump in and say "that's xxxxxxxx". And it hasn't happened. So I might run another thread with three new ones and BHN34 and see what happens. Is everyone getting tired of NOID requests by now? It will drive me to drink if I have to wait until spring, and as they say, it's not a drive but a short putt. What is called a gimmee! Les

My Mom has been raving about your pictures and since I just started back into roses and have gotten way too many in the past 2 months, I thought I'd come take a peek here. Great shots and great camera! I too got a new one as a surprise gift from my hubby, a belated Anniversary gift. It's a SLR Canon XTi. Still need to work on getting out of the automode. Now where are you hosting your images so you can post them here? That's what held me back from continuing to post here, it was hard to find a place to upload them to. I have uploaded all my rose images on HMF (by the way, I want to mention here that Beth's are always one of the best images on there, always the most accurate in coloring, I have admired them since I started looking there and am pleased to find her here as well. Hi Beth in No. Calif ""waving>>!) Anyways, like I mentioned, I have added hundreds of images on HMF because I have been going to the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden and Regan's Nursery (great sales!) several times throughout the summer and the beauty of the roses has sucked me back in. So now I am trying to balance the roses and daylilies and the myriads of other plants I collect on this small lot, it's a sickness I tell you. Sound familiar? Real estate envy for any of you on bigger properties!

Jane, I was at the fair the past week so fell behind here. Alot going on in my world lately. So much to take care of and right now I'm just tired. This energizer bunny's batteries are ready for a Charge!LOL We talked to some of our friends at the fair and they have never been to Las Vegas. So the four of us are planning a trip to Vegas next spring. We haven't been on a trip together for 9 years and we decided it's time! My DF's haven't been feeling well so I've been helping them clean and paint. However, she just brought 5 qts of fresh canned tomatoes and fresh peaches to me today at the office. She uses tomato juice to add to the tomatoes instead of water and they are sooo good! They also did a phone run to our other office for me which saved me an hour of running. They are just the sweetest people and I love them so much. Tell DD I love her jeep and I bet she looks good in it! They had the new Jeeps set up across from us at the fair. I didn't look close cuz I was lucky and found another set of new chrome wheels and tires to fit my escalade a few weeks ago at a ys. The guy bought them two months prior and then decided to marry a gal with 5 kids. He thought the money would be put to good use so decided to sell them for $500. Dishes are calling so best get to it. So glad to have you back posting!!! Punk
