oil rubbed bronze hardware on espresso cabinets?
Comments (6)i have that exact combo and i used amerock "highland ridge" and could not be happier. i, too, did want my hardware to stand out against the espresso, because then thats all you would see and frankly i did not want "see" my hardware. my granite is the star of the show. also, i am not a fan of SS, so that look was out for me from the get go. my frig and DW are paneled. i did use a SS sink,( could not afford my dream sink, copper), but i did use an rubbed bronze faucet and i am happy with the combo. also, love the highland ridge hardware, they "feel" good in my hands and are hefty and solid. we used the rectangle knob and the pulls, love them. they do have a sliver of an edge of copper which i adore, check them out if you can, really nice. HTH,, good luck...See MoreOil-rubbed bronze or brushed nickel hardware?
Comments (21)I selected ORB for my kitchen, and as it turned out I got a cheapy orb for the handles and they do not show ANY kind of wear at all. I have had them in place for about 2 years(or is it 3?( and I am still enjoying them. I should stress that we are not gentle people and we do not baby things in the house:)so that is saying that it is most durable. I like the warmth of the look. I agree that the hardware is relatively inexpensive to replace - but I also don't see them looking dated anytime too soon. Things do definitely go in cycles as we have all noted that brass is kind of coming back in. I wholeheartedly encourage you to get what you like, and you will really enjoy it....See MoreOil rubbed bronze hardware and faucet with darker wood cabinets..
Comments (5)Only do that if you don't want to pick something special as your hardware. Use plain knobs and pulls. Using dark against dark makes everything blend in and you do not notice the details so there is no point in spending a lot of money on hardware that won't get noticed. If you want to keep the same color tones as an ORB faucet, then pick brass (yes, it's BACK!) knobs and pulls. It will be a bit brighter and still have the right undertones to use with ORB. Maybe a brass light fixture too? (NOT bright brass, "living" brass like you'd find if you found a fixture at an antique store)...See MoreOil rubbed bronze hardware on dark wood cabinets -- pics & opinions?
Comments (13)I think you are good to go with the darker ORB pulls/hardware. I think it will look beautiful and won't steal the focus of the show. Satin nickel is to light and will pop out too much. (My opinion); and it looks like the other comments are in agreement - including the sample kitchen from Shenandoah: http://shenandoahcabinetry.com/sites/prod.shenandoahcabinetry.com/files/imagecache/Glamour_Image_Main/images/mckinley/glamour_images/k-lw-36msc-horz-14.jpg - I've got the Shenandoah Maple Mocha Glaze (Breckenridge) and decided to go with the ORBs...See Morejuddgirl2
