You may want to have a blower door test/ energy audit done to determine where it would be most effective to spend money on. The payback period on new windows can be quite long sometimes. The Simonton is a pretty good window not the best but pretty solid.I have not seen a Jeld-Wen product I have cared for yet.It would be difficult to comment on pricing without knowing the full details of the install and full details of the window.$10,000 is a lot of money, so take your time and do your homework.

It does nothing for the room. Paint it out, remove it or replace with a larger crown. I think you should paint the ceiling the same color as the walls. In my opinion, it looks unfinished in your picture. Diane

No, that's ridiculous. Maybe if your whole town dumped their leaves in this one half acre. In theory, you could make a big enough leaf pile on top of a woodland plant to smother it out, but even then I'd be doubtful because the wind will distribute leaves throughout the winter.

Completely new to gardening. I had a bunch of bougainvillea leaves and wood that I been broken down for days/years. I added it around my rose as a mulch, and mixing it up into the soil because that area was hard clay. Should i not have done that? It's a small area and i can easily dig it away, but wanted to check before doing so. Also, what would be good for cracked clay soil? I'm thinking bark mulch, but the nursery recommends compost and gypsum. This is a bit too expensive for me right now.
