Good morning everyone...The stretch was a great suggestion, I've been neglecting to do that. Thank you! What I grabbed was a cup of Ovaltine (you know, calcium, vitamins) but I'll get a Starbucks mocha in a few minutes. going to run some errands now. Kathy, you have a burn pile too? We've been stockpiling things at the family farm waiting for a damp day when there is time and motivation (and no burn ban, or UW home game). It's still foggy and dreary here but tomorrow sounds like it could be a nice day to be outdoors and that's good timing - if I don't get some more Fall cleanup done I'll be greeting every parent in the neighborhood with pine needle mess and soggy fallen leaves as they escort their trick or treaters...Have a great weekend everyone. And, if you are in the habit of getting one...remember it's about flu shot time. We both got ours yesterday and bought one for our employee since our insurance doesn't cover them :)

You're welcome! I wouldn't try to base that kind of identification on scent. Scents (and noses) are too variable and fleeting. Plus, what scent name is given in the registration is up to the nose of the person filling out the form. What good is it if their nose isn't any "better" than yours, or if what they perceive as one scent, isn't what others perceive? Give me quantifiable characteristics any day! Kim

Tenor Peggy, I hope you see this thread again. I, too, live in Blackspot Hell. Two pure yellow minis that have done very well for me are Sweet Diana and Good Day Sunshine. Sweet Diana is buttercup yellow that does not fade. Its main fault is that the form blows quickly. But its beautiful for a day or two and blooms a lot. Good Day Sunshine is from Pete and Kay Taylor, also the hybridizers of Fairhope, the namesake for their home town. So I am guessing it may have some common ancestral genes to that show-winning rose. GDS is, for me, far more blackspot resistant than Fairhope, and it is a light but sunny yellow, definitely not ivory as Fairhope is. Unfortunately I don't know if it is in commerse anymore. You might email the Taylors and ask about it. I don't see it in their catalogs. But its a great rose--workhorse bloomer, one of the first to bloom and last to quit each year.

It looks great. And looks to be so well maintained. I need to get out there and prune my Rise-N-Shine, so it will look as good as yours. Randy
