They are Siberia from Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply, packed for 2006. The label says that they are dwarf determinates that set fruit at cool temperatures (web searches say it can fruit set as low as 38 degrees F). Fruit size 3 to 7 oz. I've heard that there is an indeterminate "Siberian" (as opposed to "Siberia"), but have no experience growing that. A few years back I planted four Early Girl tomatoes in late February with no hoophouse and just under wall o' waters. It was a mild winter, so the only one that didn't make it was the one ripped out of the ground by a deer. I had ripe tomatoes by the latter half of May. So please don't be overly-concerned--I don't think I've killed off my tomatoes by spring frost since my first-ever garden in 1991 or so. I didn't even know that I was supposed to harden plants off back then--an even sillier young thing, I was. :)

i remember the times that we used to travel to eastern Colorado to visit relatives, we were lucky that a couple times it matched up with the migrations of the sandhill cranes thru eastern Colorado, the local tv and radio stations here used to announce the progress of the migration from south texas north across New Mexico into the San Luis valley where they stopped several days on their trip north. It was newsworthy in that a couple of whooping cranes were spotted with the Sandhill cranes and hundreds of people would drive over there ahead of time to camp for a couple days to see the thousands of cranes and hope to spot a Whooping crane. I have not heard anything in recent years on the news but i know they still come thru.

More important than when you plant it is how you plant it. I like this video, though he forgot to mention the soil should be soaked thoroughly during and after planting. I am starting to suspect that balled and burlapped is the way to go for larger trees, because I have seen so many larger container trees and shrubs with roots that are FUBAR. No roots are probably better than hopelessly twisted roots. As for your selections, I believe that 'firefall' would be my pick. No seed samaras!
