Hi John and Agatha, Your garden is looking stunning - bet your visitors for the open weekend were impressed! :) Thanks for sharing with us. No doubt about it - you grow those magnificent vrieseas really well.......wiping off snail-trail drool from puter screen... In fourth photo, top left, is that the 'to die for' V.Pacific Blush? My garden is not ready yet to show off how it now looks post-frost. But it's getting there. We have had such a wet summer - sun shone yesterday for first time in many weeks. Floods have been the latest punishment by good ol' Mother Nature, even though much of the country (Australia) is still declared drought-stricken. But I still stubbornly want to believe the 'cycle theory', rather than the 'global warming' one. Sorry folks - not supposed to use the dreaded "G.W." term - but of course I mean Garden Web, the pulse of our passion! :) Fawnridge - I live near the Gold Coast, and expect a visit from you and partner (spare bed too), when you are on your big trip! Cheers, Kerry PS. Is anyone else getting weird alien/monster thingies appearing on screen while on this site? They appear briefly, as if ripping page open, then disappear. Maybe I've just gone stir-crazy from the rain!!

Well to be technical about it, and remember, I was a physics teacher, so I love to be technical, you are all incorrect. The answer is Dr Pepper. See the difference? No period. But hey, I'm retired now, so I need to lighten up. I say five stars for Patti, Sierra, Annette, Nancy, Ana, proudgm, and Sue. Good job, ladies! Actually, you were all exactly right anyway. When Alderton named it, it was called Dr. Pepper, with the period. If you want a REAL trivia question, ask when the period was dropped from the name. Thanks for playing this weekend, dear trivia friends. ThinMan

Hello everyone and welcome newbies! Had to take DH for his kidney stones procedure yesterday. He's OK, but needs someone in the house with him. I've got him set up in the guest room on our second level, so I can keep an eye on him while I am in our office working. He had two on the left and they found another two on the right side, so I need to make another appointment to get them all blasted. Lots of drama going on with my brother lately. My sister and I made some decisions that was difficult for me, but it's time I let him fly on his own. I feel better about it, because he has not really had any brother-sister relationship with me and does not want it now. He simply does not have any emotional support to give, so he will fly or fall. Will let you all know more about it when some things are settled. My counselor wanted me to get mad and stay mad at him, and I am finally getting some peace with that! Can you believe it? She told me that if anyone treated me as badly as I treat myself, there would be a restraining order against them! I don't always see it that way, but she's the expert! Gotta run; I'm working from home, and my e:mail keeps ringing. Make this day count! Hug your family! Take care, eat healthy, and NEVER NEVER GIVE UP! DeeMarie PS: Marci, can you come over with all your energy and help me with closets? LOL

My mother stayed with me for eight days and I enjoyed her so much and she had a ball with me as well. We went to the farmers market two days out of the eight. And I came home and fixed us a big country vegetable dinner with a peach cobbler with ice cream, with no guilt. We went shopping for clothes for two days and she went to the beauty salon with me while I had my hair foiled and cut. I cut her hair and did her nails and she felt pretty as a picture. She is ninty and I hope she lives forever. It doesn't get better than that does it? ....Jane
