Comments (7)This is the vegetable garden out back. It doesn't look like much yet but everything is planted including 20 tomato plants and brocolli seedlings, for seeds coming up: nasturtium, dill, carrot, sweet corn, cucumber, pole beans, potatos, tomatillos, two kinds of onions, garlic, and jalapeno pepper plants. Several more things to go in yet. Two herb beds out front have Greek oregano, rosemary, sage, chives, pinapple salvia, thyme, and other various things. I am in the process of moving the herbs to plant around the dog rose in the middle bed to make a knot garden and will convert the old herb beds for more vegetables. I have lots of flowers planted in the beds along the fence behind, as well as elsewhere. Thank goodness for free mulch! This is very much still a garden section that is in progress. Blueberries, almond, red buds, dogwood, and peach all planted around the garden. Going to add a bench and rose arbor to the back right behind the center knot garden later. The larger raised beds shown here are 6 feet wide by 30 feet long, double dug deeply and much amended as Georgia red clay isn't much to garden in....See MoreGW Testing Easy Photo Uploading
Comments (5)It's a great new option, and I have not had to un block any thing, I have firefox with adblock plus and easylist, so no need to see the ads. The reason for them to do this is so they can try to control the size of the picture files people are adding to their posts. The new option has a size limit. This is a good thing. When someone includes a huge file it can seriously slow down page load speed and for those on dialup that can make access frustratingly slow. My guess is that you may have some thing else blocked like java? I am very happy to see this new option and hope they work out the bugs and get it implemented....See MoreJust a test to see if I can start a discussion
Comments (6)Yep, like Rusty said I can see you (I’m being a creeper right now. Okay joking lol!). But yeah I can see the post. I have problems with the posts showing up lately, but I think they are getting fixed....See MoreJust a test post to see if it will work today.
Comments (6)Hey Ingrid. I actually like the new Houzz format and it’s working really well for me. Let me see if I can help a bit with a few things I noticed. I think what you’re describing about the jumbled topics is that you are seeing a list of topics that are listed in order of recent posts. You only see that if you click on a certain thing... maybe “Garden Topics” or something like that? I also noticed that if you go to the main menu, then “Advice” and “Gardenweb Discussions” you can see all the recent discussions on any topics you follow. I like that! For instance, I follow... ...Since that’s what I’m interested in. It’s nice to see posts all in one place from all the forums I’m interested in. It is marked next to the title to show the forum the post is from and the person who posted it. I like being able to quickly see what forum it is about and what type of post it is. I haven’t used the mobile app yet through, so I don’t know if that is different. I use my iPhone or iPad, but just get to it from the internet browser (safari) instead of using the mobile app. This is what it looks like for me when I go to the page where all my interests show... You can edit the topics you’re following, and that will personalize what shows up for you. So if you want to follow only Antique Roses, just check that one topic only. If you want to see posts from others, check those too. I grow lots of different things together, so I like that I can post to Antique Roses, Roses and Organic Roses all at once if I want. It can bring people together that may otherwise have just stayed at one forum. Or I can post to California Gardening, Antique Roses and Roses, etc. Their comments can be seen at all, again bringing people together. Before, if I wanted to do that I would have to post separately in each topic and that wasn’t as community friendly, so I usually just didn’t. I picked one place and posted it there, so if people didn’t check there they would miss out. This way lots of different people can see or learn. It is a changed format, but I like it. I have had no problem posting photos, searching, editing comments, etc. I can totally understand how that’s frustrating, I just haven’t experienced it. For me, when I load photos they show up with muted colors now until they’re fully loaded (they used to show up as a spinning green wheel). It seems to take about the same amount of time to load photos as before for me. It may be faster to load them in subsequent posts instead of the original post though. As long as I wait until they’re no longer muted color (meaning fully loaded), I haven’t had any problem posting them. I hope this helps people! I enjoy all of your photos and comments so much!...See Morejuanital
