I guess these fit the M Assignment - are you allowed to enter more than once?

I came across these charming old children's clothing mannikins in an antique shop in downton ReykjavÃÂk:

The girl was inside in the dark:

The boy was looking rather wistfully out the window

They ARE charming. But they're also a little spooky. In the first photo, the lighting, the position of the girl, and the boy in priestly (altar boy?) garb add to the feeling of uneasiness for me.
The second photo achieves a kind of sad creepiness by juxtaposing the wooden boy's very focused stare with the reflection of the live people, the people he is watching.
Or maybe I've just seen too many "Twilight Zones"?

But they're excellent photos that really suggest stories (or story-telling)

Looks like a scaly-breasted munia, not normally in the US however this link says there are some in CA, must be some in FL too! Cool looking bird. Oh, SILVAMAE: I go to that site every time I have a few minutes - usually in the wee hrs. of the morning, when I've gobbled up everything here and on some other sites I visit regularly. That is a WONDERFUL site. Just makes me want to work faster and longer. Thanks for posting it as I'm sure there are those who haven't seen it. FABULOUS work.

Adam, you certainly have some beautiful plants, there, roses and otherwise. I look forward to seeing your vision come to life. We don't grow frangipani in my part of California. Too bad for us. I do love the fragrance. However I do know people who grow old roses and orchids here, so that part does not seem at all odd to me. Alstroemeria will take over here so I'm not sure I would let it loose in my rose bed. I think it could choke the roses out. Rosefolly

Yes, great shots! Mannequins are always kind of spooky...no matter what's going on around, whether it is storming outside, or a fire, or a riot going on, they seem to just hold their own.

They always remind me of the old "Twilight Zone" program on TV some years ago.

Those are very interesting pictures- I agree about the Twilight zone stories. I can just see them coming to life at night.

Those are great shots. Very old mannikins but well preserved. Everything in the pitures are very old.
