Carlos, I am amazed at how many iris you have growing on a city lot. It must be a very large lot. You have many on those lists to add to your Schreiner's collection. I also see that you have a large number of Walter Moores iris. I am also a collection of Moores iris and also have a good collection of the older Schreiner's iris. I plan in the near future to get all my Schreiner's and Moores' iris into their own areas. Now they are growing in various iris areas. I have a collection of the Dykes Metal winners. At least I have something growing under all the names. I am not sure anyone knows the true ID of some of the older Dykes winners. I have several different older Dykes iris growing under the same name. I have 20 acres of which 14 could be used to grow iris if I need the space. I have several iris areas that may cover about 2 acres all together. I have several mass planting of older iris(Quaker Lady, New Snow, Wabash, Shah Jehan, Cardinal, Indian Chief). I started with iris 5 years ago and am just now getting enough material to arrange it into different gardens. Lee Mincy

You all don't know how much I adore these little guys!!!!! I've been out of the orchid world loop. To me tolumnia is a surprise renaming for this little (once upon a time oncidium) orchid. Odontoglossum (another favorite patterned flower) is another surprise change. Tollumnia has a nice ring to it. I stopped buying them because I couldn't get the culture / watering balance quite right. Too hot and dry and I don't have a greenhouse to control humidity. I didn't have the heart to condemn anymore. I am living vicariously through this thread. Nick and Arthur your little gems are SO cute and beautiful. Shavedmonkey, that's a definite photogenic beauty.

Ontario, There are two types of keypads for vantage. One type of keypad (a regular keypad) communicates with the central processor and does not have a lighting load wired directly to it. The other keypad is called a "scene point" and has a single lighting load connected to it, and also communicates to the central processor so it can control any lighting load that is on the system. We did this so we could the save the cost on adding another central processor as each processor can have 48 loads connected to it. I think we actually have 90 loads on the system so we would have had to buy two processors and a big bulk of the cost is in the processor. The only regular switches we have are basic lutron motion switches for closets, and then regular lutron maestro dimmers in a couple of guest bedrooms. These regular lutron switches/dimmers are completely separate from the vantage system. Wiring diagram for main floor: If you are doing 48loads are less then you do not have to worry about using "scene points" as I described above. You can just use a single central processor and then the normal keypads in each room. If however, you are doing more than 48 loads but less than 96loads then the method I described above will save you many thousands of dollars. Hope this helps!

Just got back to read what's been happening. What gorgeous kitchens! A couple would aaalmost convert me to the furniture look, even though I've always (since childhood probably) loved a built-in look for a kitchen. Which is an awfully important point newbies to their designs probably don't consider right out when it needs to be -- do they really love boxes bolted to the wall (my usual description but wholly inappropriate to some of the works of art here) or built in? Five, your design sounds luscious. I can't wait to see pictures. We dropped the ceiling in a single little hall (budget build), but its contribution is so real (and maintenance-free :) that if I had it to do over there would have been more. Regarding dust-catcher tops, having a shadow line up there can be another simple but significant aesthetic contribution. If we'd done that, I was going to mount a vertical "back" to it, painting it a deeper color if necessary to hide it, so I only had to run a vac hose over the front few inches.
