Went to school with several Linda's in the 50's and 60's.
None of my kids seemed to have had any Linda's in their classes, they are in their 30's now.

My first grade teacher, a young-ish nun, was "Sister Linda", in 1969. Then I taught elementary school, and the other woman hired with me (to teach first grade) was a Linda. That was 1990, and we were both mid-20s.

A few years ago, I met a young woman named Linda who was named for her mom's best friend. In my senior English class in high school there were 5 Lindas in a class of 20. My DD and SIL have a baby name book. His mom is named Linda. When they looked up the name, it said something like "you are probably looking up your mother's name." It went on to say that Linda was the name that knocked Mary (my name) off the number one position. Just the other day there was an article and pic in the local newspaper about a group of women who regularly got together for lunch. You could join them only if your name was Lois! "The Lois Club" - there were about 15 of them. Same thing could be done for Linda. The Linda Club. How fun would that be?

Seems like there was always a Linda in my class at school. And I worked with two Lindas for many years. A pretty name. I know the song "When I go to sleep..." was written for Linda Eastman Mccartney (Paul's first wife) when she was just a tyke.

Another Lynda here, born in 1955. My mother thought she'd be a bit different by spelling it with a Y, but I still hated the fact that it was such a popular name when I was in school. I named my 3 kids more unusual names, and they have always been very thankful for that!
