Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! Al right here it goes. I still can't seem to get the color right w/this new camera. I'm not sure but I think this is kmotgg. the seedlings in the cup were not marked so I need to move it when the heat lets up. Same bed by the walk an drive. All of this is ws. So small this year. I can not believe it but I think this is a bud on my single poppy in this location!!! I have 4 that actually made it. Never been able to grow them before. This is a new stone bed or actually I am enlarging a bed that is there. I need more space! lol So I can plant more flowers : ) I went out last night an seen several of these on my Alaska Dasies. I think they may be box elder bugs, not sure have to look them up. This is my new veggie garden. Has a very late start with it. I'm not sure but someone told me they think they are Mexican sunflower. I am going to wait until it cools a bit an then will move them they will need much more space than I gave them here. Not as many w/blooms as I would like. But start over w/new perennial is going to be slow I guess. Also lost a lot of annuals to rain again this year. Bonnie : )

No, the large red blooms are a type of Red Zinnia I bought this year. I just LOVE them. They turn a lovely coppery orange as they fade, so even look nice when they are waning. The white hyacinth bean gets pods on it that have a purple seam. I've never seen that before. OkPrairie - these plants are in the front yard, which I did water and maintain. The backyard went to the @#U$_*#! Everything is burned up back there; my contorted mulberry virtually has no foliage, the hostas are burned to the ground, except for S&S. Oakleaf hydrangea is still looking fair to middling. The Japanese Maple's leaves are curled up and brown & crispy. My little asimina triloba is still looking great in a pot, as are the EEs - some of them. Wish someone would come by and p/u these pots of EEs (free). Susan

Carl, I have so many potted plants that I dont know where im going to put them all this winter,LOL.I hope that storm does'nt hit your area.It would be a shame to loose all those great plants.By the way I do sell plants. Alex, I'm sorry I havent had time to comment on your pics. lately.I've seen most of them,and from what I did see,it looked like you've added more plants to your collection.Everythig looked very happy and healthy.I think im getting close to having as many potted plants as you have. Greg, I forgot about the Butia pictures.I'll post some pics.in a few days.The bananas do help hide the trains,but it does'nt help hide the sound at all,LOL. Laura, Yea,I get some strange looks and cars going by very slowly.One of Douglasville's fine units(Drug Task Force) went by one day with his window down,driving very slowly and just stareing at those Hibiscus plants before they had started blooming.You know what he thought they were,LOL.If I was going to grow some of that stuff,it wouldent be in front of my house.Give me a break,that's our local police for you. Thanks again for all your compliments,it's been alot of work keeping everything looking good this year.We've not had any rain in two months now.Yesterday was our hottest day of the year,*98f.I think I need to learn the rain dance.I'll post more pics.soon.
