I have it in 2 places in my yard..both have been there 3 years. They each get sun until around 2:00. Both are in good, but not fabulous soil. I had Ellamae for several years also...the only time it ever bloomed was when I bought it. Storm Cloud is a much better performer (for me) in the southeast. I have other agapanthus, but this is by far the most showy. I have not had very much luck with them in full sun, however. They seem to prefer part sun or dappled shade. I also have found they do better with fertilization, even though my sister says they are not heavy feeders at all in California (where she lives).

Gordon, Plexiglass is an acrylic plastic. Plastics yellow when exposed to ultraviolet light unless protected by using a UV inhibitor in the manufactue of the product, however not all acrylics contain UV protection. You can't tell just from looking at it, you need information from the manufacturer. Even with protection, plastics may evntually visually degrade when exposed to weathering because they scrath easier than glass and even simple cleaning may eventually cause the material to become hazy due to scratches from windborne sand and dust as well as cleaning them. Personally, I would use glass.

I haven’t grown this cultivar, but have been disappointed in other A. tabernaemontana cultivars because it doesn’t have the foliage texture of A. hubrichtii or cilliata. Since in my garden it has a short bloom, this is a plant that I grow primarily for foliage, though during its bloom period, it is nice. I appreciate the feathery textured mound of foliage provided by A. hubrichtii for contrast during the summer months, and the fall color is outstanding. To my eye, Amsonia like tabernaemontana without the bushy, fine-textured foliage don’t have any summer interest and have far less impact during fall color season. I haven’t had issues growing any of the Amsonia I have tried in my moist but well-drained, acid, fine sandy loam and hubrichtii self-seeds very lightly. I haven’t noticed any seedling from my others. Just be aware that A. hubrichtii takes up a good-sized chunk of garden, a 3.5’-4’ diameter mound for me.

Have you tried using the color viewer on the Benjamin Moore website? That might help you get an idea for which colors you like together. Our house used to be a similar color and we used Hale Navy and it looked great, but I guess you don’t want navy. We now have a different color house and just painted the front door BM Pomegranate which I really love. I actually think it would work with your house color, but you’d have to put them together and see.
