Dogs can have allergies so I don't see why cats can't.

They certainly can! I have two allergic cats
I would not rule out URI - Upper Respiratory Infection / kitty cold

Cat allergies do not show that way. Most likely virus or infection. Time for a vet visit.

When we got my youngest cat as a kitten at the shelter she had what the vet essentially termed as a 'kitty cold' Sneezing, runny eyes, nasal/eye discharge.

Keep an eye on him, and take him in if it persists. There is always a possibility kitty snorted something, too. My cats will sneeze and sneeze if they get something up their nose - but it eventually goes away over the course of the day.

I'm taking him to the vet. I don't think it's a respiratory infection . His eyes are watering and he sneezes. There's no discharge from his nose. He's a very delicate cat. When he first went for his physical I was told he has a heart murmur and gingivitis. He's was only 6 months old at that time.

Dogs I know very well. These are my first cats. Both came from rescue a year ago. The other cat is fine and healthy.

I think taking him to the vet is a good idea. The cat allergies I know of present as itching, scratching, etc. Either way, cat's will often stop eating when they are "stuffed up", better to nip it in the bud than let a delicate cat stop eating.

Cats can definitely have allergies. It may be as small as a cold but you won't know without a vet visit. A vet visit to find the cause of sneezing and watery eyes. It seems like with any pet they can be fone and healthy for years and then allergies seem to pop up out of nowhere.

Good luck with your cat and yes they are like little people sometimes more than dogs.
