My brother has a John Deere 4310 Utility tractor. Loader on the front, backhoe on the back. We also have a box scraper for grade work.

That looks idyllic. It's a beautiful house, too. My house has brown cedar shake shingles (painted, naturally they are kind of beige), but sure doesn't look as nice as that one. I always wanted to add a loft, but raise the roof a little differently like an idea I got from a magazine.

The reflections in the water in the first photo really set off the photo. Good job!

Is that a newer home or has it been refurbished in a masterful fashion? Do you know if those are wood shingles or siding? I don't think you can get siding that looks like that.

I want to know because I have always fought putting siding on my house because it would ruin the charm of the shake shingles. If those are real shingles, which I am guessing they are, I would have to tear off all mine and put on all news ones which would be too costly. A lot of my shingles need replacing before it is painted or I'm not going to be happy with that.

They are cedar shingles. Red cedar I believe. The owner recently put on a fresh coat of stain. So not a new house. Not sure how old this house is. Sorry to hear your shingles are painted. Once they are painted you can never go back. In my opinion staining and or oil is the only way to go.

Mine were stained dark green, then I had it painted it brown to cover the green, so I guess now I can't go back. It needs painted again. Now I don't want it brown or green and had a nice medium-to-dark taupe picked out. Then my neighbor bought a fixer-upper next door and sided it with taupe! Now I don't want mine the same color, but he couldn't have known. He says he sides all his jobs with that color. I like the shade of brown your client used better than mine. What a difference a small change in color tone makes!

Incidentally, I sent the link to my family because it's such a nicer version of what I wish my house could be. The ones who responded just loved it. My son especially commented, and he ordinarily doesn't want to look at stuff I send him (not a lot either). He just built a brand new expensive home.

I know you did the pond, but it's a cohesive whole now; one aspect of the scene complements another.

I just found out my house was built in 1931; have been through thick abstract several times trying to find it, finally called the city and they looked it up.

I was going to tell you to compliment your client on the meticulous manner he has maintained the home and his taste in arbors and ponds, but maybe he doesn't know you posted a photo on the net.
