Jeanne, I always enjoy seeing your Woodfield dishes. So glad you had time to get your shelf decorated to share. Love how you added the jar, bird, vase and a few leaves for a little pop. I also noticed the candle light on. Gives a warm glow to this setting. You have such a nice touch when it comes to decorating. Oh yea, those apple gourds you painted and saved. Love them! Why can't I remember to save mine instead of throwing them out every year. Now your saving corn too. Your just so smart. Your basket w/corn and gourds on top of the hoosier looks nice sitting beside the gourds. Punk

I have been waiting to see this color in a room as well. I have the sample card and Love the color! So many colors-such hard decisions. I laugh every time I see a couple in Lowes walk up and decide on a color in 60 seconds and have it mixed to take home. If ONLY I could decide so quickly and not drive myself crazy with samples and swatches of colors on the walls and repainting every 6 months!

I have Diamond/Omega maple cabinets with the Pearl finish. I was going to go with the straight white offering and my KD discouraged me from doing that. She said the white was pretty stark and looked like a thermafoil finish, IHO. Like you, I was concerned about clashing with other whites. My kitchen is open to the dining and living areas, which I wanted to paint a cohesive warm white shade (I chose SW "Creamy".) Add to that, my trim is white (SW "Snowbound".) I'm really happy with the Pearl finish on my cabinets. There is a slight contrast with the walls, and they don't look dingy against the white trim, which is what I most feared. In the lighting in our home, I don't read grey in mine - it just seems to be a richer, creamier white. Don't know if that helps with regard to your choices. It just reinforces the advice given above that you probably should get some samples in your home and check them out in your own lighting.

If we could see your furniture and your style, we could make better recommendations. The wide fireplace would be perfect with MCM or modern style. furnishings. But you may be more transitional or farmhouse or another style. You have the good fortune that you can place the 2 focal points, fireplace and TV, right side by side, with the TV over a low cabinet on the hearth. That makes good functional use of the hearth area, so you don't need to think about removing it. Floor matching would need to be attempted if you remove the hearth, so not easy.
