Can you not see them? The entire thread is visible to me. How appropriate any of the answers may be depends on one's location and specific climate. The OP did not designate a location or climate zone, so the suggestions cover the board - some hardy, some maybe not. And to be perfectly honest, some of the suggestions are not shade plants at all but just seem to be somewhat tolerant of a shady condition. That can affect how well they bloom, which will also affect how intensely fragrant they may be. And some, like the thyme, will not be fragrant at all unless crushed or bruised.

Don't know what Fox's Frape is or Mediterranean Bells. I'm in the warmer part of zone 9 and regular hyacinths don't need chilling here. Only some alliums survive in this zone. Other alliums need cold winters to return reliably. I think your best answers will come from looking up each one by their botanical names. Common names often vary.

Jenn, that Ostrich Fern is very pretty, but if I remember right, it gets pretty big and does spread, right? I love that color and the form of the plant. I have all the others you mention. My favorite is the Japanese Painted Ferns because there are a few variations and some of the color tones just really appeal to me. They are also tough as nails and pop up different places too, but not a lot just once in awhile. 'Ghost' is great too. Maybe you already mentioned it, but what kind of trees are they? Oaks? I have Maples here and they really suck the moisture and the fertility out of my soil. A lot of the plants you are growing and getting reseeding from, I planted and they petered out and I didn't get reseed from. Tiarella, Woodland Phlox and Brunerra among them. I may have to try some more natives. And add some compost to offset the effect of the Maples. LOVELY garden! What will it look like in another few years? :-). Great photos too. Have you ever read the book 'The Woodland Garden' by Beth Chatto? She has my favorite woodland garden and she is in the UK. I have a lot of half sun. I have steered clear of thugs trying to have a low maintenance garden. I grew Rudbeckia at one point with coneflowers and other sun lovers. in full sun, but the Rudbecka won. It just ran over everything else and I didn't enjoy digging it out. So I got rid of it all. I don't grow day lilies so I don't know how they will compete.
