I am looking for 3 daylilies for my three grandchildren. By next spring I will be looking again for the grandbaby due in December! Savannah Sunshine for my oldest granddaughter because her name is Savannah and when she was little her mother used to wake her up every morning singing, "You are my sunshine". Col. Garrett for my grandson simply because I can't find another daylily with the name Garrett in it that I like! Chosen One for my youngest granddaughter who is adopted. Her name is Hailey and I can't find a named daylily for her. Chosen One is perfect for her! I don't have much to trade but would love to find out if anyone has these so possibly we can work a deal. I like American Freedom, and that's great that your get rebloom. I have its sibling, Minstrel Singer, which I think has a less vigorous plant habit than AF. It's similar in coloration and form and is supposed to rebloom, but never has for me. I think my favorite is Soli Deo Gloria, which I got from Laura this Spring and should bloom here in a few days. I'm glad to know Margo Reed Indeed did well for you, since so many on forun said theirs was short this year. Mine was short and only bloomed on two scapes. Boundless Beauty is a great one for the later season. I'm glad you and Kate agree. Your cream seedling is very pretty! I used to grow Dublin Elaine, and it always rebloomed for me. But it was on the side of the yard that became too shady for daylilies, and I sold it. I hope it's out there blooming away beautifully for its current owners. Debra

Markay: From Wikipedia: "Much wood ash contains calcium carbonate as its major component, representing 25 or even 45 percent. Less than 10 percent is potash, and less than 1 percent phosphate; there are trace elements of iron, manganese, zinc, copper and some heavy metals." From Straw: It's the calcium in wood ash that makes roses grow tall. I posted a "before" pic. of Lavender Crush at 2.5 feet tall, and an "after" Lavender Crush at near 10 feet tall AFTER I dug down to the root level to put pelletized lime & alfalfa. I also posted a pic. of 1st-year-own-root Munstead Wood threw a 3 feet octopus cane after I threw some gypsum (calcium sulfate) on its dinky pot (2.5 gallon). I don't give lime to Savannah during tons of rain. Calcium is the "building block" for plants, it generates growth in canes & roots. Phosphorus actually shortens plant since phosphorus is for branching of roots & branches into a "rounder" shape. Phosphorus helps with more blooms through more branching and cluster-blooming.
