Just discovered something new

I can watch TV (hulu.com) while on the internet. When you get to hulu, find a show to watch, hit the pop-out box (on the right side of the visdeo screen) and you can watch & internet at the same time :^D

Its true, we learn something new everyday.

Actually I learned this on Thursday.

I was getting a generic Rx filled at Kroger. It is a 3 month Rx which has been $12.00. If your Doctor writes it for 90 days, rather than 3 months, it is only $10.00.

I have another generic Rx and the pharmacist told me to have my Doctor write me a new Rx for 90 days and it would also be $10.00.

I don't know if that is true at all Pharmacies.

A small saving, but still a saving.

Every little bit helps, and is appreciated.

BTW, my little pea brain would probably get lost trying to keep up with a movie and the internet at the same time. ;(

Welcome. I've been here for a while, but I rarely post, mostly I read posts. I can grow violets but I have no luck with orchids. I bought two again in a package at Lowes last month and got all the bags of stuff and pots and am trying again. I either get them too wet or too dry, either way, they never live to bloom for me. Yes, there are so many different colors of bloom and leaf colors too. It's hard to stop getting new violets. I joined a violet club a few months ago and they had a class on those leggy neck violets. I came home and tried it and the plant neck rooted and the plants perked right up and are healthy and blooming nice now. I tried one at a time, just in case. Someone here should be able to tell you better than I, but basically you take it out of the pot, pull off any bad lower leaves and then scrape the neck with a knife getting off the scales where the old leaves used to grow, getting down to good stem is where the new roots will grow out. I watched the lady at the meeting scraping this plant neck with a knife and I couldn't believe it. I was scared to try it myself. I tried one and it worked and then another, putting some leaves to root just in case. You take off some of the bottom roots until you can sink the plant back down in its pot and fill in potting soil covering the neck up to the leaves. Put it in a baggie or something to keep the humidity in until it roots. In the past I had broken off the long neck, repotted it and put in a baggie and it always died...you have to scrape the neck, thats the secret and it really works, either keeping the rootball or just cutting off the neck, scraping is important. Hi Jenny, Goodyera seed is very easy to germinate in vitro. I've had success with Goodyera oblongifolia on Malmgrens medium with some potato added, bleaching the seed for about 30-40 minutes, I think. ~90% germination over a few months. In situ, it would be very difficult. Your best bet is to mix the seed with a quarter cup of sugar and spread that around the plants that already exist in a 10 ft radius or so. In 2 years, you may see some tiny leaves popping up. (Never done this myself, but I am relying on info from Andy Huber at GROWISER in La Grande Oregon who grows Cypripedium montanum in this way) Best, Ross Here is a link that might be useful: GROWISER

I blame StoneyBaloney for telling us about the Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Cherry ice cream bars. OMGosh. They were so good. Notice I said "were"........ I am NOT buying anymore. They are too addictive. Now I might see about the Skinny Cow ice cream Spicey recommends. I've had the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches and they are good but something tells me, if you eat more than one at a time....they're no longer considered "Skinny"! LOL

Several years ago I decided I do NOT like multi-tasking. Instead of trying to do everything at once at work, I slowed down and did one thing at a time until I was satisfied I was finished. Then I started another project. My job performance jumped up noticably, I became calmer and I was promoted several times.

My prescriptions are for 90 days and now $5.00

Only one I have to pay $30 for 90 days is my cholesterol tablet.

I found out it pays to ask for discounts....I was getting my routine medications at Walmart for $10 for a three month supply but hated driving into town and having to put up with the less than stellar service at Walmart.
So I asked our local, independent pharmacist if he would meet the price....and he did!
I much prefer dealing with locally owned stores.

Glenda, I'm curious. Do you have a Prescription Drug plan, and the $5.00 is after your co-pay?

Maybe I need to have another talk with the Pharmacist.

I am retired on Teacher Retirement. My insurance plan is PHEP with Blue Cross, with my teacher retirement. My prescription co-pay had been $10, but it is now $5. I'm happy.

My dog loves sleeping in my car during a thunder storm, I crack the windows. Guess he feels secure and less static built up on his fur. Maybe at ten years of age he hears less inside the car to as my car is parked under the double carport.
...no more panic attacks. Wow! Yep, I discovered this on my own.

I discovered that my local library offers electronic books to check out. You just download a small piece of software, and then you can check out books over the internet and immediately download them to your computer.

They offer the same for audio books, too, though I'm not into those.

Yes, Glenda, it does. I don't have any Rx Drug Insurance and was wondering if that is what made the difference.
