Great ideas everybody! I've always wanted to order the PawPaw rose labels, but I think they would be a pain in the butt for me. After cleaning out my beds over the last few months, I can see it would not be a good idea to have those wires to have to deal with. It's already a nightmare, raking the pine needles out from around the roses and perennials. I can see I'd be yanking up the labels, or getting the rake all tangled in them. That's a bummer. I really like the rock or tile ideas. I'm going to have to look into finding something along that line that will work for me. I do have my roses mapped out on paper and lists written up with locations, etc. But with as many as I have, and as crammed as they are.... sometimes I can't remember who is who when I'm actually out there looking around.... until they bloom anyways.

Yeah, you got the variegated Jade right on the nose. Pleiospilos can be tough to identify, especially when young. Get in some good strong light and grow it for a year. By then, the shape of the leaves should be less generic, and the species will hopefully be more obvious. I actually think P. simulans is a pretty good suggestion, especially since yours is young, and probably a bit etiolated. The other species you might consider is P. peersii.

I have quite a few persimmon trees on my property. They are loaded with persimmons this year and I don't water. One tree was spindle-like and toppled over in a bad storm about 3-4 years ago. I was disappointed until it grew back from the roots into a new healthy and beautifully shaped tree - xmas tree form w/dark green leaves. It's about 15+ feet high now. I learned that you have to have both male and female trees in order to produce. Both seem to flower, but only females produce fruit, at least on my property. Don't worry about the black spots. It doesn't seem to have any affect on mine.
