I did some doodles for you. I leaned towards warm colors for two reasons: they would blend well with what you describe in adjoining rooms and they work a bit better with your warm toned cabinets. I tried some "cool" colors, and they just didn't mesh well. (I did a 'cool' gray and a terracotta so that you could see that the undertones were too cool, as in the gray, or the color fought the cabinets, as in the terracotta.) Not trying to steer you in any particular direction, but I've created an album of various colors/depths that seemed to fit the bill (and some that didn't ;) Some posted here, there are 2 pages of colors at the album I linked to below ;) Oh, almost forgot, left your crown molding white and painted the ceiling same color as walls so your crown molding wouldn't disappear. What some people do, rather than put the "full" wall color on the ceiling, is have the wall color mixed at 50 or 25% and use that reduction for the ceiling. That way there's a lighter version of the same color on the ceiling, blends well. An option if full wall color on the ceiling doesn't suit your taste ;) A golden tan A bit lighter version A very deep golden tan/acorn (historical type color) A lighter green with yellow undertones An apple green A richer apple green A mid level moss green An earthier moss A warm mocha If there are any other shades you'd like to see, give me a holler ;) I went through so many colors, these are the ones that came out the better. I've always likes Mona's home. She has excellent taste. Have you tried painting a large poster board and taping it to the wall and leaving it a few days in all light? I narrow it down to a few colors and paint the foam board and move it around the room for a few days in the different lights of the day. I will tell you though. I have a terrible dislike to sage green. LOL. Also blue. It took me a LONG time to find a blue I liked for my laundry. I think it was my Mother's love for painting EVERTHING these two colors as a child and I swore to never paint anything these again. Ok so anyhow FF to my sister who just painted several room in her house Restoration Hardware Sycamore green. It looks *really* pretty. I would have her take a picture. She is so opposite of internet savvy it would be her mailing a poloroid to you in the mail. here are some I found online though FYI she had is mixed in Behr paint. I think you made very nice choices in the end. I like the backsplash you picked, because as others posted about the glass.... it brings down the quality of the kitchen..... The flooring...I think it will work out fine. We are having the same problem. I actually like the wider plank but either would work. I do like the color you choose and it was my first choice....then it would have been a brown picked up in your original flooring. I hope you post pics when you are finished! Oh just as an afterthought....did anyone suggest you do the backsplash in the same countertop granite? That might have worked also, but it's a different look and maybe an outdated look also?....I think you chose a good product...bet it's gorgeous! Best wishes on it's completion!!!

Kitchendetective, that wall by the table is the only full wall. Other than that I have a lot of cutting in above and below windows and doors, plus a small wall about 18" wide next to my oven. I'm afraid it would look too chopped up to have those little bits and pieces one color and the table wall a different color. What do you think? I'm really terrible at visualizing. I want to say thanks to all of you for your specific paint suggestions. I've got them all written down and I'm going tomorrow to my local awesome paint store with my bag of samples and see what I come up with. It helps me so much to have specific paints to look at because there are just too many choices and it overwhelms a girl! tkbalt, your kitchen is so pretty. What a transformation from those white slab doors! I'll be back Monday with narrowed down choices and photos of my favorites painted on the wall with my kitchen samples propped up.
