My monitor shows me a blending of tones, your table is fine, imo. I could see your backsplash introducing another color for some interest, if not with tile, then a punch of a paint color; is there going to be hardware on your cabinets ?

A different, more elaborate pendant/chandelier could add interest in the whole visual you get of your nice kitchen.

Looks like a beautiful monochromatic chocolate kitchen to me! No, everything does not have to pop in high contrast, or be the same wood color. The browns you have blend very nicely, imo. Either bring in some other textures in the browns for interest or add a couple of other colors in some accessories if you're not after a monochromatic look.

Good suggestions by mitch. Definately paint the backspash the kitchen wall color and add some hardware.

Thanks for your inputs all. We will do a backsplash in slate mosaic. And I had hoped to pull a grey-blue from the slate and do slate curtains at the sliding glass door in the nook. Here is a picture, they look hideous. I am so not able to get my act together and loads of company is on its way beginning next weekend.

Can you find some linens, candles, etc. to put on the table that will soften the bare wood and coordinate with the draperies?

Is that a sliding class door? I bought ready made ( hardy fabric, and would not show hand prints) curtain panels, sewed the 4 panels together, attached rings to a strong, thick rod. We can easily open them, and they have worked out great.
I wish I could post pictures, but I do not know how. My DD is grounded and wants to bribe me to show me how to do it. I am holding my own, and will have to wait until she shows me how. Sorry

One more thought..........Love the whole slate mosaic . Totally perfect!!! Can you remove the 4 inch laminate backsplash and do a full height slate/tile one. It will really have a bigger bang. And will expand the space wonderfully. It can be done, but make sure you do it along the studs. Please send pic's when you are done. Love the kitchen too!!

Thanks for your sweet comments all. My panic has subsided abit now.I think I like the slate blue. We will get granite counters shortly and the slate mosaic will be done soon after.
And I am headed linen shopping lol! definitely need to get a table cloth and some nice placemats. My color scheme I guess is slate blue, black and cream.

I'd love to see a carpet under that table to define the space, and pull those colors all together to really complete the look :)

I love the blue and the brown. You can easily find a coordinating rug like igloochic mentioned and other accessories. You mentioned blue,black and cream. Where is the black coming from? The appliances? I think your colors are more blue,brown and cream. What granite do you plan on getting? All the wood looks great.

Slate blue, brown and cream, right? Try to bring some other textures in, too, to contrast with the smooth sleek ones.

Maybe add a table runner?

I just bought these placemats and love them--although they may be too formal for our kitchen eating area or yours. They are beige/cream background with ribbons in brown and blues. I can't tell if they're the same slate blue color as in your WT but they might be worth a try. (And there's a table runner as well.)

What should I accessorise my table top with. I replaced the puny plate with candles and put a hurricane lamp with a candle, but I dont think I am done.
I also have a buffet table which has no accessories other than 2 lamps. What else can i put there

I saw this at Williams-Sonoma that I thought might be nice on your table, with its coloring and texture. Not with lemons, but maybe lush peaches. Along with one of your pillar candles maybe.
