Dehydrating Rosemary

OK, so I decided to give this dehydrator a shot for the first time and dry some Rosemary. The directions stated to dry them for 10 to 14 hours. (This is an Oster by the way.) Well I looked after 4 hours and they were so dry that they were beginning to turn brown. Every time I've ever bought Rosemary it was nice and green in the bottle. Is this unit maybe running too high? (There is only one setting.) I hope I didn't dry them out so much that they are ruined.
