MB: Also, make sure that you save an extra copy of the "formula" sticker of each paint stuck to the color card that shows the paint. Write directly on the color swatch which rooms or what part of the room is that color. Date them too. Then, punch a hole in these and put them through a shower curtain ring or an opening key ring. Store all of them together. I've decided that old paint isn't worth keeping beyond a quart or even less. At some level, paint cans multiply and it becomes overwhelming. I'm in the process of throwing mine away and storing only a small amount. We almost never retouch paint, just repaint. Garages so easily become cluttered, and dirty/buggy too.

Thanks, everyone. At least I'm not crazy. Paintguy, I think you may be wrong about using the wrong quantity of colorant. Next time, I'll speak up if the sample doesn't match the chip. Faron, I had no idea that the BM sample pints weren't real paint. That's upsetting. I could understand that they'd use their cheapest line of paint for samples, but it should still be paint. Whose responsibility is it to calibrate the machines? Does the dealer have to pay to have this done? Do the manufacturers require their dealers to do this on a particular schedule? (It seems that they should.) C2 isn't an option for me. Their closest store is over an hour's drive each way. There are other BM dealers within range, though, as well as Sherwin-Williams and others. I would hate to stop buying paint from my local store because the people there are so nice, and I imagine that the store is just barely surviving, with so many big-box stores nearby. I'd hate to see it close.

Lowes sells 7.7 oz tins. When I was there, they couldn't make up some of the paints I wanted. I am assuming it's because they mix them there and a few colors I had requested had too small parts of a colorant that couldn't be measured. Don't quote me on that, though. As mentioned above, SW has Quarts to Go for $5.00. Much better deal as you can paint a whole wall. Learn from my mistakes though and ask if the formula stays the same for a gallon. In my case, with Ivoire, it didn't. Also, if you are planning to use a different paint than the sample quart, like Cashmere, the formula will change again so when you have made your choice, try it in the paint and finish you have selected. In another post I just wrote that I love paint. I should amend that to having a love/hate relationship with paint. :)

Oh Kat, I wish I could be with you during your chemo. It may sound strange to some, but I have fond memories of my chemo buddies and all the laughs we shared while being infused. Can't think of anyone I'd rather be with. :) I've never forgotten what generous support I received from you and my KT family during my chemo and recovery. You'll always have my hand to hold and shoulder to lean on. It's a plus you are feeling so well at this time so you can charge ahead and defeat this damn cancer. Your KT Army is pulling for you!!
