Latex vs Oil on new (raw wood) book shelves

I have already put a primer/sealer coat on the wood, but I am going back an forth about this. I don't want the potential yellowing from oil, but I need the durability of oil (i.e. bookshelves with moderate use with heavy items displayed - bronze bust, crystal and some leather bound books).

I will be painting the bookshelves a gloss white which matches the existing crown, base, window and fireplace finish.

Also, the room has 5 windows and a French door, but I limit light exposure because of silk curtains, rugs and antique furniture.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
