Thoughts on planting a slug trap crop?
Comments (2)While keeping the planting beds well mulched creates conditions that slugs find very nice to live in I find little damage to plants unless the level of the mulch falls below an inch of two. Apparently I also have created conditions that toads, garter snakes, and lots of birds find very liveable and they are quite prolific in my garden and help control the slugs for me. If I do have a problem simply spraying the affected plants with cold, caffienated coffee repels the slugs....See MoreFor glue and screw...what kind of 'glue'?
Comments (7)>>And don't use drywall screws. They're not strong enough for the application. Get some deck screws, at the minimum.Drywall screws will work 100%, especially when you glue another thin piece on top, the glue is giving you the holding power. When you screw a thin piece on top, dry wall screws have threads all the way to the head, it will still pull the two pieces together, I like them allot better in this sort of application when short screws are needed like here!.....actually they have better grip then deck screws and cheaper. >>What's the most gap between the top of the tile, and the top of the flange I can have before I need to be worried that the toilet won't seat properly?I think your system is the same there then it is here in Canada,?... are you using the wax gasket? If so..... Because I asked this same question to the local hardware store and the guy stated, you can put two wax gasket on top of each other. Perhaps ask the same question in your local store. Comments (6)Maybe it depends upon the number of children one has but we currently have white cabinets and I don't have an issue keeping them clean at all. Well, and I was that Mom that believes if kids are old enough to make a mess, they are old enough to help clean it up. I can understand not wanting white carpet because it would be next to impossible to clean with a family but all you have to do with white cabinets is wipe them down to maintain them. White is timeless compared to wood, IMHO. I've seen different woods go in and out of favor but white has been around and in style for as long as I have been around, back when I rode dinosaurs to school. Comments (40)It sounds like you've already decided which ones to keep and which to return, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I like your choices and think they look great with the other colors and items in your cheerful home. My favorites are the barn (on the left in the first pic), the one in the second picture (that no one else seems to like), and the "confetti people" piece. I also like the frames a lot., and wouldn't have guessed that the art was mass produced if you hadn't said so. All of them look happy and fun to me. I don't think every piece of art has to be original and deeply meaningful... Just brightening your day a little can be enough in my opinion. I like your idea to use the keepers in your guest and laundry room. Makes me want to check out Anthropology for some colorful art when we set up our guest bedroom....See Morepetra_gw
