Mine have a coat of polyurethane, the same as my cabinets. They arrived at my house that way.

My cabinets are painted and the spice pullouts are unfinished wood (no pencil marks tho). Honestly never considered it an issue

You can try a brand new eraser on the pencil marks, either pink pearl or artgum. It's possible a white vinyl eraser would work too.

But most important is how you want it to look. If you want it to be painted or stained then by all means call the cabinet guys and ask if they'll do it for you and how much it will cost.

I wouldn't ask how much it would cost, I'd say "it seems you forgot to finish the insides of my pullouts, the same as the rest of the kitchen." And point to the pencil marks to illustrate that clearly SOMEONE also thought they'd be finished futher. If you want them finished, you should get them finished at no charge to you, unless it was clearly stated in your contract otherwise. My two cents (as you can probably see, I'm done being "nice" and I'm at the point of speaking up to get things the way I want them in my very expensive renovation! My GC has to take down the ceiling in my EIK and redo it, per our very polite but firm conversation of this morning.)

Sorry about hijacking your post, but I have pullouts, 2 nine inch over the stovetop on either side of the microhood, so I do lose a little space because the hood sticks out a little; and one in the base, also a 9 inch, does anyone know if these also come with the retracting feature that I have on the rest of my drawers and it just didn't come on these cabs??

OH! My pullouts are on stained cabinets and the insides are finished with natural wood/polyurethane also.

There is a difference between a natural finish, in which a wood is finish sanded and a poly or other type of top coat applied, and UNfinished. UNfinished wood has not been protected, may not be smooth, and cannot be cleaned and used as finished wood without it looking bad quickly. Rev-a-shelf does not finish its products to match your cabinets. They are all shipped as natural finished maple, but are NOT unfinished. If you actually got UNfinished, you or your KD or kitchen installer should contact them to correct this error, and it should have been caught before they were installed. If there are pencil markings on the natural finish they were almost certainly put there by the installer for the purpose of measuring and installing them. If you want them painted or stained to match your cabinets, they will need to be stripped, because there already IS a clear finish on them, and then REfinished to match your cabinets. There is no reason that cannot be done, but you would have to arrange to have it done by someone separately.

If I bought pullouts and organizers from my cabinet company with my original cabinet order, I would expect them to match. If they come from 2 different companies as separate orders, they couldn't match. Rev-a-shelf has no way of matching your cabinets.

My SuperSusan, from my cabinet company, match the interior of my cabinets. My pullout, from Rev-a-shelf, has a natural maple finish. I don't mind it, but if you do, have it refinished.

My cab installer did a great job with just about everything, so I was definitely second guessing myself "am I being a nitpick?". But I'm so glad I posted this question b/c now I know the installer needs to finish the pullouts with a little bit of paint.

amylville, your picture was SO helpful! My cabs are white too, and the front "post" part of my pullout is painted, but not the top of it, and not that 2nd long rectangular piece between the revashelf part and the post, the piece which connects the 2. Clearly both the post and the attachment piece are painted on yours, and I think they should be painted on mine too!
