I don't think 4' x 4' is a big enough space. My corner pantry is 41" x 51" interior...that does not count the thickness of the walls that also take up space. It's barely big enough...I wish it were another 6" to 12" in each direction (it was supposed to be bigger...I lost over 7" on the 41" side and 8" on the 51" side due to KD measuring errors.) Our pantry is more of a "reach-in" pantry since there's not much room to stand in it. It's tight...but we have a downstairs pantry where we keep the overflow. Ideally, the interior of a corner pantry should be at least 5' x 5'. [There was a discussion about what the minimum size a pantry should be a couple of years ago and we sort of arrived at 5' in each direction for a corner pantry and, IIRC, at least 5' long x 4' deep for a walk-in rectangular pantry - 12" to 14" deep shelves on one side - it's just enough room to stand in front of the shelves. If you're very small, you might get away with a set of 6" deep shelves on one side & 12" deep shelves on the other side.] The walls of my pantry are 4.5" and 8" thick...the 8" is so I could create a Message Center Niche to replace the Message Center cabinets I lost in the measuring debacle. So, if you have a 4'x4' space, subtract 3.5" to 4.5" from that space on each wall for the pantry wall. (Standard interior walls are approx 4.5" thick. If you turn the wall studs sideways, you can get away with a somewhat thinner wall...approx an 1" to 1.5" less.) Additionally, the walls will need to be approx 27" deep. The other thing to consider is whether a door frame will fit on the resulting angled wall (the interior wall length of the angled wall will be less than you think when accounting for wall thicknesses). We had to put in a 24" door for our pantry b/c a standard 32" (or even 30") door frame would not fit on the angled wall. I've linked to the thread where I discuss our pantry. Maybe it is the way I have drawn it, but there is actually no issue with the door and cabinetry clearance as drawn. That said, I would still love swinging doors! And Cabinet guy said he will specify a super hard finish for the shelving paint. He buys the paint from a company here in GA who can duplicate the formula of any paint brand but it is formulated for the kind off sprayer booth he has and in different hides. It's as good or better than any factory finished paint I've ever seen. (Cabinet guy is an owner operator who took over his father's shop about eight years ago. He has one FT and one PT employee and they do one kitchen at a time, filling in waiting times with small projects like mine.) So I a, going to go with the painted finish and try not to let any future dings bother me. I guess that makes the darker paint a better option?

Just reread specs and I think that the Rev-a-Shelf swing out system will work as it requires a 30" minimum width (I have 37"). That would leave up to 7 inches for the right hand door to swing open: is that enough? Perhaps I could have a pull out pantry or filler in those 6-7"? Rev-A-Shelf 4WP Series Wood Swing-out Pantry--this requires a minimum of 30" in width. I have just over 37" but need to be able to open the right door so wondering if the pull outs below, if placed to the right would work? this is the Rev-a-Shelf swing out pantrythis is the Rev-a-Shelf "filler" (above) and below is the Rev-a-Shelf pullout pantry (there is a wood option and a metal option: any opinions on what is better?) This comes as narrow as just over 4" so not sure what the difference between this and the filler really is--anyone know? And is there a different company that makes a better product or equally good product that I should look into? Thank you for your help

Your closet is only 69" tall? You want heavy thing (like your liquid gallons) near the floor, and light items (paper towels, cereal) up high. Stuff used the most should be at waist level, easiest to reach. Will there be adjustable shelves between these fixed shelves? What do you have that's 24" tall? Ideally, you want the shelves just a little higher than the things stored on them, so you maximize storage space without having to stack things like boxes and cans. 16" depth is great for large things, and 12" is good for smaller things. You don't want things to get hidden in the back. It sounds like you have already thought about what you want to keep in the pantry; the more detailed you can be about what will go where, the better your design will be. If possible, make your shelves adjustable, in case your actual arrangement isn't as planned, or your needs change in the future.
