All grays are going to have SOME undertone...whether it be beige/taupe or pink or green or blue... Sounds like you want a cool gray. Gray cashmere has a green undertone. I take the next deeper tone on that chip, misted green (2138-50, was too green. First set of suggestions is from the Color Preview fan. (And if you don't have all of ben moore's fans...I suggest you invest in them. It makes life easier.) Ok... take a look at metalic silver (2132-60) and pilgrim haze (2132-50). silver lining (2119-60) and nickel (2119-50) are nice as well. From the Classic Fan: coventry gray (HC-169), stoningoton gray (hc-170), sterling (1591), blue springs (1592), and adagio (1593). Stonington and Coventry don't read taupe to me...but I don't know the formula so they might IRL. Affinity collection: eternity AF-695, storm AF-700, cinder AF-705 Hope that helps...but the best thing to do is buy all three fans.

Hi Katie - I don't think I'm any closer to picking a backsplash, although am at the point of just giving up and NOT picking, so that will settle it :) I like several of the tile samples I've gotten, but can't quite imagine them in the kitchen - does that make sense?? For example, I haven't found one that I immediately think "this is it!!!" I did find a place that has calacatta marble tiles for just over $7/sq ft, so I am very tempted to just order a ton of them and hope that I can get enough with some color rather than all white! For that price I could order more than double and it would still be cheaper than any other place! I'm going to wait until someone else posts about their sample though (they are getting a sample of carrara from the same place) to see what they say about how it looks. Anyway, we need a 48" fridge, so are a bit limited. That's only because we have an old SubZero (really old!) right now and are planning on using it in the new kitchen until it conks out :) Hopefully that won't happen as soon as we get it in there! It was in the house when we bought it, which is ridiculous because it's mammoth and takes up almost an entire wall in the teeny-tiny kitchen! So...I didn't see any that wide in white like your black one - darn! I shouldn't even be looking because I'll jinx our old one - we're planning on just slapping new stainless steel panels on it to match the other appliances so I hope it works out OK. I'll be eagerly awaiting your photos of the granite next week! Your kitchen is just amazing looking so far!

This link gives a good representation of Maritime White OC5. You can see the different shades. Low light under the windows reads darker and bright light in the corner brings out a yellow tint. Although, I would not say this paint "reads yellow" at all. I think the bright light brings out the warmer hue. I hope the link works for you. I hated to be elbow-to-elbow on a boat too small to keep lines from getting tangled constantly and people going back and forth on a too narrow walkway to the head or to the ice box or wherever. I swear everyone went by or behind me 19 times each bumping me because most don't have experience on the sea. I will never go on a charter with 50 people again on that small of a boat. Otherwise, there were just a few of us who fished when a squall drenched us briefly, cooling us off nicely, and we few caught the most doubles on the lines and right into a school of dolphinfish!!! I am sure I was the oldest at 73 and a woman who knows how to fish and can walk on a boat in 3-5' seas. To eat on board, just me since DH's new meds' affected his equilibrium: my new recipe for Syrian stuffed grape leaves, cherry tomatoes, cheese and crackers, bananas, pickles, medjool dates, pineapple tidbits, PB&J, enough bottled water to slosh, and caramel M&M's. Boy, does the fresh ocean air make you hungry - sorta like when you are camping. I did catch some nice vermilion snappers, grey grunts, dolphinfish (mahimahi) - gorgeous colors!, and small amberjack. Freezer won't be full but nicely piled up for the summer grilling and en Papillote. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday but, alas, it may be the last time unless I can find others to go with me.
