best paint for new wood cabinets -- cabinet coat? miller?

Hi,

We are (finally) painting our new, custom wood kitchen cabinets. I know the look I want: white (a crisp, clean look but not to stark), a rich, hard, smooth finish and ease of clean up.

We tried Miller's Acrinamel High Gloss and I hate it (husband is willing to stick with it). It doesn't cover well (he has done four coats! and primer), and doesn't have a rich finish. It doesn't look "wow" I can tell you that.

So, I have researched on this site about Cabinet Coat. I called Ace Hardware here in Salem, OR and they sell it for 12.99 a quart.

I guess my question is: does Miller really suck, or is it my imagination? And, is Cabinet Coat the way to go... or are there other brands I should look into?

Thank you so much!
