Too cute for my taste. I would pick something more tailored and in a stronger pattern (stripes, maybe black and white; gray and white; or plain white). Or maybe something like this:

No to the valances posted, in fact IMO a valance is not the best WT here. I'd change the venetian to a Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shade.

My second choice would be a plain white valance. Nothing patterned as the stone has enough movement.

Don't love the curtains. Too country for space. But I love your cat. Very photogenic.

Have you ever thought of doing custom. So many more choices of fabric. I have had some made and it ended up being similar price and better quality than ready made. I had tall windows so many of ready made don't work. You can find lots of fabric online for decent prices.

I would put nothing at all, this is a superb space as is.

I think you already heard the no to your original question, but I will add mine to the rally. The original one you posted is too fluffy for your tailored space.
I will also state that I do think you need something. While the bathroom window looks fine, it is out of step with the rest of your house. Your house, to me, has an element of lushness. The window with just the blind seems minimalist and cold. I would love something like a soft white velvet cornice box with luxe trim.

I think solid shutters would look awesome.

If nothing is an option at all, I really would go that route. Add some art work or maybe plants (orchids) and luxury towels/accessories.

Here's the best option from my travels today: simply off white white linen that mimics the shade on the sconce by the vanity (also an off white linen). So it's this or nothing.

I like the linen valance, it squarish shape fits the room. I agree it should be lined.

Kevin, looking at your wainscot panels, what type of paint did you use? Have you had any cracking in the seams?

I think naked is best. The room itself is so fab don't try to draw the eye to the window.

i actually prefer the style of the 1st valance, tho not the fabric/trim... i'd keep looking...
(i like bare windows too, but with the blind, i think it needs a treatment since the blind is an inner mount-doesn't have a wood valance to finish it off...)

The bare window is too stark. I like the first one and also the linen but it does need to be lined. May I ask where you found it- if you don't mind, that is.

I vote a definite no on the original fluffy valance. I like the linen one very much in that bath, but as they've already said, it needs to be lined. I'd even experiment with lining it in gray.

My preference is no valance but I'd go with the linen if you want a valance. (Yes, I'd line it, in white for a uniform appearance.)

That gingham check in silk looks like one I had a while back, fabric purchased at Calico Corners, same trim and I had round table skirts to match. I really like it, just not for your bath.

Naked would look best in your bath. I've not seen the rest of your home, but this room doesn't need a valance.

I like the look, but it would look even better if it were lined. Either that or lower the valance to a few inches above the trim so that the wall color doesn't show beneath the curtains. As it's semi-sheer, it would still let in plenty of light.

I think I'm going to go without anything. I feel like there's enough going on on that wall as it is, and I'm not sure I'd even like it lined any more. Here's what the white silk one looked like (it's the wrong color, but you can see what a solid white would look like). It's both boring and over the top to me for some reason.

Neither do I. The point was to show what it would like (sort of) lined. Like I said, I don't think I want anything on the window other than the blinds.

I may look for a stained glass panel that fills the opening (or have one made with my family crest) and then ditch the blinds.

I think the choice of no dressing is a good choice. I like the clean look of your bathroom, no clutter, no frills, just very clean and classic.

I think that going without is a good choice. The fabric breaks up the elegance of the room to my eye. If you really feel the need to soften it (which I don't think it needs), I would do so with artwork or towels

Guess I'm the only one who kinda likes the first linen, UN-lined. I like how it repeats the squares of both the floor and the wainscot, and the airiness juxtaposes against the hard surfaces.. But of course your bath is so gorgeous naked works well, too.

This might be a terrible idea but have you considered beefing up the window molding at the top? I think what is missing is the window needs some height in some way.

No valance vote here. I don't like them anywhere and especially not in your gorgeous bathroom. Have you considered actual shutters for the windows? Not a plantation shutter, but the small louvered shutters that stack one on top of the other? You could use two sets of those or just one on the bottom half of the window. Alternatively, you could use solid panel interior shutters. Our old colonial house had these in all bedroom and bathroom windows and they not only provided total privacy and blackout, they looked substantial and in context with the period feel. (The house was only about 60 years old but had been a pretty thorough reproduction when designed.)

So far I'm not liking any of the valance choices, but I also don't like the blinds. I'd go with a roman shade or shutters.

Yup don't like that last one either, as you said it's boring. I agree, it doesn't really need anything. Your stone is just gorgeous and you don't need a lot else going on. My3dogs I think used a stain glass in part of her bathroom window like you are thinking, perhaps she'll post it for you.

Putting up nothing is a good choice. I think you just need artwork and a little touch of red-- maybe in the form of towels, artwork mats, etc. Perhaps a different rug would work, too.

I'm not changing the rugs (and they're real sheepskin, not fake). Theyre minimalist and very comfortable on the feet but still allow the heat from the gloor to pass through because of the hide and low pike/knap. I had a small rug before that was a pale blue Greek key but I needed on for the vanity area and there was nothing the right length. Plus I didn't want to cover the floor with something too visually obtrusive. I always wanted the tile to shine.

Love your bathroom! Using a window covering would warm up a space that contains many hard surfaces. I like the idea of a shaped valance (especially the yellow stripe) or possibly a cornice board as in my mind they seem to fit the timelessness of your room. I would possibly pick-up on the black surfaces in the room using a black tone on tone fabric or a black/white/grey patterned fabric. Enjoy!

I happen to LOVE your bathroom as is. Nice, white, crisp looking white blinds are the perfect touch in your room. It doesn't need anything else (unless you wanted to spring for nice, white, crisp plantation shutters) :).

LOVE the idea of a stained glass with your family crest. Do you have a source you would be willing to share? I am looking to have one made as well.

I like your bathroom without all of the curtain options you posted and would consider heftier wood blinds or shutters.
