I'm sorry I have no suggestions but just wanted to tell you that I absolutely love your furniture in the living room and would say play off the maroon rather than the green.

If you love the beaded curtains then why not keep them? You should do what makes you happy. Lovely furniture. About the bedroom, I have a 36 inch hd and now I wish I went a little larger.

First of all love your furniture too. What I think might be what is not working is the fact that the beads are not visually heavy enough to balance out the visually heavy furniture. I agree with you I love the beads but I was wondering how some heavy silk taffeta wide striped tone on tone drapes would look along with the beads. Or what I think bothers me is the vertical blinds seem to be fighting with the beads.

I love your rooms. Here is my $.02

LR drapes - I vote maroon for the curtains as you already have a lot of green and I thin maroon will tie in the ottoman and pillows beautifully. I can't really comment on style as I am not that good at picking out curtain styles. Heck-I have yet to buy curtains for my LR! LOL

Green - there are a ton of nice green in the Gallery section. Are you looking for a sage green, olive green, khaki green, forest green or gray green? I like BM Baby turtle and BM Dry Sage

As for the TV, we have a 42 inch in our bedroom above our dresser. However it is mounted on the wall and I have a bunch of trinkets on the dresser itself. I know you mentioned wanting to hang a mirror but would you consider hanging the TV on the wall and hanging a mirror elsewhere?

You have a very pretty home. Regarding the paint color. Do I see a pretty blue/gray rug? That would be a dynamite color on your walls.

I do like the beads but I was never totally happy with the look. I just couldn't seem to find anything else. I agree about the material not matching the heaviness of the furniture. I would have been happier with the window treatment if the material wasn't shiny and silky and was a bit more thick and heavy with the beads. Plus I think I would have prefered the brown to be much darker. I just found some dark brown suede panels with a leather band at the top. I purhcased them loved the look but it too didn't match the furniture. So back to the store they went just 40 min after purchase. I think maybe I will give the material stores a try. I might find some thick heavy maroon material that I can fashion into a window treatment. I have searched all the stores and haven't found anything that sings to me. :(

I still need some advice on a green color for the hallway. I will be adding a white chair rail.

As for the bedroom I do worry that if I get a smaller one I might regret it later.... still I don't want it to overpower the dresser or the room either. I don't have to have a mirror there, I could always hang it over the headboard instead.

Hi: I have a flat screen in my bedroom--its a 42" but we bought a tall dresser to put it on--I like "jyyanks" idea of putting it on the wall. I also love your furniture and that ottoman it incredible. I think you should use colors from it. Where did you find that entertainment system with the curio cabinets on either side? (and who makes it?) I love it. Good luck!!

I got the entertainment unit from a local furniture store. I searched all over for someone who could order it. I will try and remember the maker and post it for you.

Your furniture is wonderful! However, I see a discrepancy between the strong, almost masculine lines and color of the furniture and the feminine, somewhat flimsy nature of the curtain treatment. I would pick curtain panels in a heavy, textured material in a neutral beige tone and (sorry), dispense with the beads. I think your living room will feel much more cohesive and calming. I would repaint the walls a cream color to go with the warm browns and beiges of the furniture and the new curtains. I'm sorry to say that in my opinion the arrangement in the area with the wall border and iron ornaments also does not seem to flow with the living room. I would take off the wall border and the iron ornaments and find a wood cabinet or table for that area because the white pedestal doesn't really go with anything else. I hope this doesn't all sound too negative because the basics you have are really beautiful and just need a little tweaking.

Na not negative all good advice. The iron wall thingies and wall border are already gone. I would love to paint the living room a different color but I've already gone through three paint colors. With the furniture in the room now I'm not up for moving it. (that wall unit with the tv in it is a monster to move!)

Initally I wanted some very heavy drapes but just couldn't find anything I liked. I came across those beaded drapes and went with it. I took them down for Christmas and just don't want to put them back up now.

I'm trying to remember the manufcturer I think it was something like Westwood. Not sure though. Sorry bout that. When I was trying to find it all I had was a photo that I got online from a google search of wall units. I took it from store to store and finally came across it in one of the books they had. I wish I could remember the name I just remember all the trouble it was to find someone who could order it and then the trouble I went through to get it home. (six long annoying months!)

I was poking around the JCpenny's site and came across these. I like them and think they would fit in well with the livingroom. They have the maroon and even green in them like I wanted.

Here in lies the problem. They are custom drapes and the price was listed $0.00-$2,488.00. Ok I really like them but I'm not paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for drapes. I'm sure I can find some material somewhere that will let me mimic this look.

So what do you think am I on the right track with style and color?
