Benjamin Moore Aura versus Dunn Edwards Everest
Comments (6)BM is mostly used on the East coast. Dunn-Edwards is a Southwest paint and very popular. It is a high-quality brand formulated for hot weather with their LEED certified factory located in Arizona and headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. Various quality level lines, with even the "lower" quality still being equal to many other brands mid quality. Dunn-Edwards also does not advertise- strictly word of mouth. So you might not have heard of them if you're not directly in either the painting/building world or a designer/architect. Everest is their high-end interior paint which is 100% acrylic and very durable. It is also zero VOC which is great if you're sensitive or have allergies. Has great coverage too!...See MoreBenjamin Moore flat paint - Aura vs. Regal Select
Comments (2)BM has top quality paint and I don’t think it will make as much as a difference as the finish. You may want to take a look at article below and speak to a BM paint consultant as different rooms may also need different finishes, kitchens, bathrooms vs hallways vs bedrooms. Flat is not used often. https://artzyfartzycreations.com/what-sheen-should-i-paint-my-interior/...See MoreBenjamin Moore AURA in Chantilly Lace?
Comments (5)Will it be exact - no. Will it make a difference? Probably not. Human perception of color is dependent both on the color and the reflectivity of a surface, so as soon as you change sheen it looks lighter or darker. Paint color is also not mixed identically - every can of paint can be ever so slightly different than the next - this is why professional painters mix the cans together before painting and never let one can completely run out before mixing in a new can. Temperature and dry time changes the color of paint - the quicker it dries the lighter it is. Again, not enough that most people notice unless they are trying to patch a wall and the paint isn't drying the same color as before. If the entire job is going to be done in either Aura or another BM paint it won't make enough of a difference that anyone would notice....See MoreBenjamin Moore Aura vs. Regal Select?
Comments (8)I haven’t used the Aura but I’ve been very impressed with the Regal in my home. Previous owner did a number and was just a really crappy painter, so I needed some high hide. It went on flawlessly. I loved working with it and the coverage is on point! (I’ve primed and painted an entire brand new house, plus every apartment/house I’ve ever lived in. So I’ve used a LOT of paints haha! Hardware store brands, SW, Sico etc. Never used BM before though and I am in love!)...See Moredenali2007
