I wanted you to all know over here as well since many of you know my long struggle. Sorry if you read this over on home deco.....

It has been so long, & so many days and nights I have thought we would never move in.

The bank said today we can move in as soon as we get Occupancy. What? That could be next week.

This is unreal. They have told us all along until we get permanent financing we can not move in, now this.

I am in shock. Seriously have felt sick since I heard the news.

It is just to much to comprehend.

My children have waited so long, we have spent endless planing hours, endless money, endless tears on this home.

All I keep saying is OMG, OMG !!! I always wanted to move in the spring.

Thank you Lord !!

I wanted to share and update you all. The financing is still progressing and everything is coming together.

I love you guys, thanks for all your support.

BTW - I am having one stellar house warming party and anyone close by (or not) is hereby invited.

YAY! and PTL for answered prayers and providing nice homes for our families. SO happy for you!!! Can't even say how much.

PS... Thursday will be one year since we got that prized Certificate of Occupancy. I remember well the many frustrations and much nausea leading up to that point (not as much as you), and it seems so unreal when it finally happens.

How exciting! You've been so helpful to people on this forum and others...I'm sure everyone is so happy for you! I recall many details of your home and just can't imagine how you are feeling now that it is coming together. Congratulations to you and your family.

Thanks, joaniepoanie. I'll check out the knobs and pulls website. I agree many buyers wouldn't know the difference and some would probably plan on remodeling the kitchen anyway. I would prefer to paint the cabinets the same antique white that we've used on all the trim and doors throughout the house. The reason I'm considering a different color is because of my granite counters. Another poster mentioned they appear to have a pinkish undertone and the yellowish antique white might make them appear more pink. I wouldn't want that! Edgecomb Gray looks like a warm neutral with a touch of red, and I thought this might tone down the counters. Here's an inspiration picture of a kitchen if I paint the cabinets a color other than antique white. It looks like a light gray with espresso glaze pinstriping. Shades- All your windows are so pretty, in that picture. I like having lots of light/views, too. Shade cloth sounds like a really good idea. I didn't think about the privacy...but that's a nice benefit, too :) I posted this on my unfitted kitchen post, but I wanted to get your input, too. I've been debating about putting the washer/dryer in the mudroom (for various reasons) and a fireplace type of surround, around the wood stove. I don't like the idea that a hot surface would be so close to the entry. So, that being said...I was playing around with some new ideas for the kitchen. I'd like to have a bigger baking area and maybe a little place for marble, out of the main work space. Then, it hit me, what if I moved the wall oven/microwave into the pantry area (I still have the range oven in the kitchen) and I could put the baking area, between the wall oven and corner pantry. I have the farmhouse sink (with the drainboards on each side) in the pantry, for watering plants, washing veggies, arranging flowers, etc. The main sink (maybe a farm sink?) would be for clean up (especially big mixing bowls, pans, etc.) and the little bar/prep sink on the island, is for drinks and washing produce, out of the fridge. Although it's just the two of us, most of the time...we do have a lot of people over in the summer and at 'harvest time' so the extra room is really nice. What do you think? Oh, and I'm thinking the marble in the baking area, blue countertops on the L part of the kitchen, and butcher block on the island...and maybe around the pantry sink. From Fairy tale cottage

Your name is still on a sticky-note on my monitor . . . I won't take it down till all is in place, including financing!!

I'm guessing you're not close enough to Nashville for me to come to your party . . . darn!
