should my Charcoal grout be charcoal?
Comments (10)Well, I couldn't get him to come back, but my GC said that what the tile guy was referring to was a dilute sulfamic acid solution. I looked into that and did it myself. The first time, it was too dilute, so I ended up going over it three times, with a thorough rinse in between. The color evened out, but it is still lighter than I'd like. It doesn't look bad as it is, but when it gets water drops on it, it looks just right. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should seal it (with 511 or something else? that's what I used on the walls and it didn't change the color) or if I should go whole hog and use a grout colorant? I understand that if I seal it and don't like that look, I'd have to remove the sealer in order to apply the colorant. I've looked into Aqua Mix, I looked at the bottle of Polyblend Grout Renew at Home Depot. I understand Mapei has their own product as well. How on earth do I decide? All I want is a dark gray. It's a very small room, so whatever I do, even if very tedious, won't take that long. We are not living in the house yet, and have another bathroom, but I'd really like to be done with this! Thanks for any insights....See MoreWhat paint color/trim to paint my exterior? Should I add shudders?!
Comments (14)I would try to convince her to 'uninsist'. That seems to blend into its site in its earthy color. A plus to my eye - And I am also in the PNW. She needs landscaping. My own ground here on the coast is too wet for spading and preparing new beds in January. And please note that the house behind and to the left are white. This house also white would be redundant....See MoreWhat should I do on my house exterior?
Comments (14)Agree with the canopy idea. I’ll be the dissenting opinion here - I say paint the brick. I’m not usually one to advocate for painting brick, but I think on smaller houses and those that are more simple it makes a much larger impact. A white brick house will always be in style - so even if the trend fades your white brick traditional home will never look dated. If you want it to look more in vogue with today’s style, I would suggest a white brick (maybe SW Alabaster) and a light griege shutter (maybe SW Ancient Marble). I know some might say that scheme is overdone (at least where I’m from), but I can’t lie - there’s something so classic and understated about it. I think it will really transform your home. That said - painted or unpainted, the house is very pretty. If you opt not to paint, you can’t go wrong with some updated landscaping and new fixtures....See MoreWhat colour should I paint the exterior of my home
Comments (2)Here is a greenish gray with white trim. Your tall arborvitae need to be removed from in front of your windows, which I guessed at the shape in this image. Your home could benefit from some colorful landscaping in the front....See Moredevorah
