Does anyone wear a bathing cap anymore
Comments (30)My favorite part of the triathlon is swimming. With that said pool swimming is my favorite exercise, ocean swimming on a rainy day with an angry sea during a triathlon, not so much. And that's what we got during both triathlons I did. The first year I did ok, second it was so rough, I had a panic attack in the ocean and took a noodle and had to be guided back in with a swim angel. Anyhow, I think my triathlon days are over, I had a knee replacement very young, and the cycling and running were too hard on it. I took off from training last year, but I'm still having issues. I live in NJ and I am just not comfortable cycling in traffic, I am too afraid to get hit. Running, is completely out for me, I sort of jogged and power walked because I can't train to run, and honestly I don't think I would enjoy running even if I hadn't had a knee replacement. Those 2 triathlons were for my bucket list, next is a swim in the Navesink River race this June. Planning on starting training in Mid-February. I hope a river swim is kinder than the ocean! I'm envious of your pool, I would be in it daily if I had one! Enjoy your workouts....See MoreDoes anyone NOT have white baseboards and trim?
Comments (19)We have stained trim throughout the first floor, as well as in the upstairs hallway, which is visible from the foyer. The upstairs bedrooms and baths have white painted trim. This was the compromise we came up with, when DH suddenly announced he was tired of all stained trim (after I bought craftsman/mission influenced dining room furniture) and DD didn't think it would work very well with the purple, gray and black color scheme she envisioned for her room (too bad she's now living in NYC and has left me with a rather unusual guest room). As much as I love my stained trim, I do enjoy the versatility of the white in the bedrooms, so I guess everyone ended up happy. Totally Confused...See MoreDoes anyone do white cabinets and white island anymore?
Comments (14)i actually think the trend of white cabs/stained island will end up being dated sooner than later....that said I'm still considering it for the practicality of the island being the busiest part of the kitchen with seating on one side and sink/dw/trash on the working side. I think it will help keeping the island looking better longer than if I had white all over. Still prefer the look of white/white overall....See MoreDoes anyone use richlite or paperstone counters anymore?
Comments (15)I don't have the Via Lactea installed yet (demo hasn't even started), but I intend to report back here once it's in! While I know you don't have to "baby" soapstone, it does seem to get blotchy. All my samples are blotchy at this point, and it would drive me nuts to see that daily in the kitchen. I'd feel like I'd need to oil it every time something spilled. Whether the spill itself was greasy and darkened a spot, or I wiped a non-greasy spill that then lightened a spot. I still want soapstone somewhere in this house; I just don't know where yet! I'm probably keeping my samples forever and ever....See Morewhenicit
