kohler DTV vs Moen Io Digital
Comments (6)We looked at both and ultimately decided on the Moen. The deciding factors for us were that (#1) the Moen I/O Digital has a flow control and the Kohler does not (so you would need to buy flow control valve(s)) and (#2) the Moen has a larger display that we could easily read without our glasses. I liked the look of the Kohler and its flush mount. I don't recall which finishes it comes in but I know that we had to go with brushed nickel on the Moen instead of our first choice, polished nickel. I was lukewarm about getting the I/O Digital when my husband first mentioned it. I had envisioned our shower with lots of shiny levers and knobs to match our Sigma faucets so a single rather contemporary panel was an adjustment for me. I got over that the first time I used our new shower. I absolutely LOVE our I/O Digital! The remote control is a very big reason. I hit the button for the showerhead that I want as I'm about to get in and by the time I open the door, it's up to temperature. I love that I can see exactly what temperature it is set for and it blinks as you're starting to run low on hot water (while the temperature is still maintained at its setting.) We really couldn't be more pleased with our Moen I/O Digital and we've just ordered one for our guest bath reno....See MoreTapmaster during reno vs after
Comments (3)Ask for your Xmas present now. I just think that if you *are* going to get it, might as well get it now and start enjoying it. See, you'll need a hole in the toekick for the pedal mechanism and then a hole in the back of the cabinet for the cable that runs from the toekick to your water stubs. We installed our Tapmaster when we installed the sink cabinet because it was the easiest and cleanest if you do it then. We took the front panel of the toekick box off (well, actually, it came off after we drilled two holes at the two ends for the E-Z Levels), and it was so much easier to be able to thread the cable through the back hole with full access to the bottom. It also allowed us to vacuum the bottom before reattaching the front. Also, the back hole is almost the exact size as the cable, thus very small and discrete, because we didn't have to fish for it....See MoreFavourite Faucet Company?? Kohler vs Grohe vs Moen Showcase
Comments (2)annz that is an excellent point, really good point about the model numbers or faucetdirect etc. I buy all kinds of things from ebay, but seem to be hung up about buying things for the house we are building from ebay. But the difference in price from the plumber who is giving us 25% off and the ebay, etc. prices is huge. I will make my first purchase and let you know how great I feel once it is done. Thanks a lot....See MoreTapmaster: EURO vs Kickplate version..or the highest-end one?
Comments (9)Hi Cal Quail. I much preferred the Tapmaster to a touch faucet because you can use a Tapmaster with ANY faucet you choose. Personally, I didn't like the appearance of any of the "touch"/touchless faucets. The foot pedal can be used by my little shorties who can just get their hands under the water but aren't tall enough to reach the faucet handle. My Tapmaster is on my prep sink, but I wish I had one on my giant silgranit super single cleanup sink as well. I am still thinking about asking DH for one (along with him installing it) as a Christmas gift one year. They can indeed be installed in existing cabinetry. I would put the one on my cleanup sink to the right of center, just like my prep sink placement. I can't tell you how often I've stood at that sink, hands under faucet, kicking my right foot around wondering why the water isn't flowing. I feel silly when I do it. Using the Tapmaster becomes second nature in the kitchen. The placement of right-of-center makes ergonomic sense. I, and I assume everyone else, approaches the sink faucet straight on the majority of the time. This makes your right foot (assuming you are right-footed) perfectly placed for manipulating the stick. If the stick was centered, you'd always have to approach the sink slightly off-center to line up your foot correctly to the stick. BUT....then YOU wouldn't be directly in front of the faucet. Anyway, I am really happy I splurged on the Tapmaster. It was a lot of money, which made me hesitate. Great purchase....See Moremonicakm_gw
