In the master bedroom, I have beige marble saturnia. I understand what you are saying, but I really don't think a clear/blueish translucent glass in the shower, and then the 2nd backsplash I linked for the wall behind the vanity (not the electric blue one) wouldn't work with the beige porcelain. I mean the beige color is a neutral color, I will then have expresso as the vanity color, similar glass to the subway tile glass on the vanity top and the vessel bowls, so not sure why the beige porcleain wouldnt work? It would blend well with the master bedroom floor and I would imagine it would just provide a neutral color. I think if I go with a pure gray it will be too dark and dreary. I just hope whatever floor I pick that the contractor does it with 1/8" grout lines with a grout color that matches very well. I hope the contractor doesnt give me a hard time about the 1/8" grout lines and a hard time when I ask for it to be a diagonal layout. I am going to do 18"x18". To Tina, I agree, I dont think a border will be necessary in the shower, I just didnt know if it was "too much" glass all in one area and needed to be broken up. But I looked online and many subway glass showers have no border. In terms of metal finish, you mean like on the vanity and shower? "victoriajane-- Something you might think about-- this would go well with the subway tiles, too-- what about using beadboard for your wainscot? It would then be a completely different material, and therefor would not "depend" on the tile in the shower and bath." I agree with Bill's suggestion here. We just used beadboard wainscot in our bathroom and I think it turned out nicely. My original plan was to use white subway tile, but dh really wanted something a little different, so we ended up using American Olean Sonesta 8x10 tiles laid horizonally. The beadboard meets an outside corner on one side of the tub/shower and then butts up to the tile on the other edge

Would it be bad to use something like this, even though it is an older style? I am a huge sucker for black and white anything. I don't want to spend a lot of money (not that this is a lot of money at $5.75/square foot at home depot) and then still have the room look like it has the original tile, in case we sell. I like this too, for the same reasons...this is more expensive though, at $15.39/SF (for sale here: http://www.fastfloors.com/catalog/productline.asp?wid=FG8N2D2&productlineid=17937&productid=126165: I also like this, but I'm suspicious of the price ($5.48 for 11.25x11.25). Is the quality bad? this is at home depot. Would marble be better? Or granite? I have no idea what to do.

I am drawn to the first floral you posted. although I worry that my tastes tends toward to "granny" sometimes and with the pink tile want to be careful to avoid that. I hear what you are saying about a frame providing more impact, so definitely open to replacing the mirror with a framed one. I'd also like something else (a print? ) above the toilet, the medicine cabinet is empty and is not necessary for the room.
