I will check into that color. Does Comfort Gray look more green? I am looking for a greenish-bluish color. I do have to invest in some "Reveal" bulbs though because every color that I have sampled in this bathroom turns to an awful, ugly, muddy color.

I am still liking the pale aqua and brown color scheme so I will have to also look into "espresso-colored" or "chocolte-colored" paints for the vanity. Does anybody have any suggestions for that?

My husband asked me if I was going to decide by this weekend, and I said, "Um....maybe" - how decisive is that? (I don't know why this is so complicated for me).

BM Bittersweet Chocolate, I believe it's called, is a great dark color that a long-lost GWebber used on her kitchen cabinets. Gorgeous! Was it Girl With Aspirin?

Here are before/after and instructions on a blog of girlwithaspirin's kitchen. Also, the first 4 pics in this search result are hers, the 4th is a closeup of cabinet door after.

mari's pics have also been removed, but this thread is where she mentions her wall paint color as "Shale" from Lowe's Eddie Bauer line. (Her walls were also a very soothing blue, IIRC).

As an aside, hope both those ladies are doing OK.

SW Comfort Gray, Sea Salt, Tradewinds, Windowpane, Reflection and Rainwashed are all similar to the color you seem to be searching for and colors you may want to consider.

Comfort Gray is a green gray as well as a couple of others in this list. Some are blue grays. We have Sea Salt in our Master some say it's too pale but what I love about it is depending on the lighting and towels we have in the room it will reflect as blue or green. We have Tradewinds in our guest bathroom and it's an aqua blue. I had samples on the wall for all these colors and they are all very pretty. There are other colors in this family of grays that could work too, you just need to look at the strips in your lighting to see what will work for you. Just keep in mind that the majority of them will look dark when you first put them up, but in reality they're not. That's what happened when we put Tradewinds on the walls. Initially it looked incredibly dark to me and I worried, but once it dried, it ended up looking exactly like what I was hoping for.

Thank you so much everybody! I LOVE the cabinets painted in the Bittersweet Chocolate so that is a definite (and moonshadow, thank you so much for posting the instructions!) I will also check into all the colors that everyone suggested.

I had sampled Sea Salt on my wall and it looked very "baby blue" to me (again it is just a sample and still in my awful lighting). A few years ago, I had painted what I thought was a definite grey-blue on the walls. When all was said and done, it was a "baby blue". I really hated it. I lived with it for a couple of years and then redid the bathroom (in country wallpaper etc. which I have now come to hate too!) That is probably why I am trying to capture the perfect greenish tone in the paint because my family will think I have lost it if I paint and it turns "baby blue"...

My experience with Reveal bulbs has been dismal. Dismal because they do not last but a few days or perhaps 4 weeks. Quite buying them because of the cost.

Here is a picture of SW Sea Salt in our master bath, it's a gray with a green/blue tint to it but is no where near a baby blue, if anything it leans to the greens. We have SW Hinting Blue in our Guest and Master Bedrooms and that is a light blue. My experience is if you go with a gray that has a hint of blue or green it will favor that color on the wall but it's much more toned. Here's pics, so you can see the difference.

Does anyone know what sheen of paint girlwithasprin used? That is one of the best expresso paint jobs I've seen.

I painted all three of my oak vanities in BM Bittersweet Chocolate. The sheen is semi gloss and I did a coat of poly over the top.

My guest room is BM Palladian Blue which tend to looks green, but in the picture it is not looks sort of grey,

I did my powder room BM Gossamer Blue which I love. Don't have a photo because it it too small. Here is a sample board I set up when trying colors.
The first thin rectangle is Gossamer Blue, then Palladian Blue. At the end on top is Beach Glass and the bottom is Quiet Moments.

I used SW Sea Salt in my low light bathroom and that night it resembled baby shower mint green! Ack!

I took a BM Smoke chip from the fan deck into my SW store and they matched it almost exactly--I LOVE it!

Now, I think I'll take the Sea Salt to him and have him put mere blue in it...:~)

You have a beautiful home :) I don't know why Sea Salt looks so weird in my house. Love the inspiration pic, iltroit - I wish that was my bathroom! Denali, what is the color green in your bath? It seems to be more olivey-grey...I really love it! Your vanity painted in BM bittersweet chocolate is absolutely gorgeoous!

thanks for your kind words. I do love the color of the vanities too. My BIL thought we had installed new ones when he saw them.

My bathroom is painted a BM Affinity color called Thicket. AF 405 Thicket. It really isn't the true color although that picture was taken in natural light. The window is right across from the mirrors and vanity.

Denali - I hope you don't mind me asking but what did you do about your door hinges? From the picture, yours look to be outside hinges also. My door hinges right now are black. Did you spray paint what you had or were you able to find something that matched the paint fairly well? I love your hardware...very pretty!

Your inspiration pic reminds me a bit of Grecian Green. Many of the colors suggested here do lean blue. It sounds like you need to look at greens with a touch of blue, rather than blue with a touch of green.

I had a pale blue/green paint go minty on me in a bathroom with green tile and I ended up using Martha Stewart Atlantic. There have been a couple threads on that color. It might still be too blue for you though. I have to run to a class this morning (actually, I am driving two hours to a class!) but I'll check back in later.

Someone who has also struggled with this is jockewing. You can search on his name and see what you can find. (I think he is a guy...)
