exterior paint color for door and shutters

We are looking to paint the door and shutters the same color. We were thinking something of a wine color...burgundy, for both the door and shutters? Anyone paint their shutters or door that color? And if so, what color paint did you use? I attached a pic of our house if anyone is motivated to Photoshop! :)

Hello, our home is a mid-tone olive (Duron/Renwick Green)with black stutters and off white trim. We are having a difficult time selecting a color for our front door. Home is very long with plenty on windows. Entrance door and sidelights dimension combined is 7 feet. We think the entire entrance should be the same color. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

It's your choice, but it is probably more common for the door and shutters to be different colors. I like the yellow/blue/red combination that you have.

I like your house the way it is. I do feel the large shrubs on the right side look squatty and the squared off ones by the step don't look natural. I really like the yuccas or whatever they are on the left side under the tree. They add texture. I would add something else to the other side, hosta or small rhodo and evergreen planting. Add larger lights by the door and move the too small flowers. Maybe flower boxes below the two upper end windows could reflect a front door color. Betty

@Denita, thank you for your response. Agree we'd only put shutters on the front left window. Good call on the landscaping. I just trimmed down the bushes and hadn't thought of trimming the tree (Japanese Maple). Since you mentioned it, now it's clearly overgrown to us and heading towards the house. We'll get an arborist over to help with that.

I think a French blue/gray siding color would be lovely. Make the front door more of a cedar color. Or paint it French blue/gray too. Make the trim and facia a shad darker than the siding.
