Update: Powder Room Professionally Staged and I'm still unhappy
Comments (7)dixiechixie: I love Smokestack Gray but I'm not sure if would look good in my powder room. It's roughly 8 X 6 with a 9 foot ceiling and no windows. I still want it!! Please post pictures of yours when you're done painting. I then can transfer my bathroom lusting to yours. mlraff53: The color on the left side bottom right patch is Storm Cloud Gray. I like it the best so far. I have around 6 or 7 more colors samples to put up. Do you have pictures of the Eddie Baur Shale? Who carries Eddie Baur paint? tarzy: I have made so many returns in the last 6 months to Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Z Gallerie and Home Goods I'm sure my picture is posted in their back room (serial returner). The guys at my local paint store know me on a first name basis. I feel your pain!! Have you made a decision on which drapes to use? I have a really pretty linen colored one from RH in my dining room. I hired a home stager/redisgner to work on quite a few rooms in my house and I loved what she did with my dining room. They were originally in my LR but I replaced them with chocolate velvet drapes from PB. The stager took my linen drapes and sewed a topper using left over fabric from my slipcovered parson chairs. I wasn't sure if I would like them but once they were up I thought that's pretty cute and clever....See MoreTo update powder room vanity in 37" space, stay with 36" or go smaller
Comments (4)if you want 37" to feel spacious and dont need a lot of storage, i have one of these... there is room inside for things required for a powder room. tiling the entire wall behind it, floor to ceiling, looks lush without using a lot of material. ronbow leonie...See MoreNeed help updating drab powder room
Comments (25)on my monitor there's no gray in the floor..it's travertine..only very warm greige might fly and wouldn't attempt even very warm greige..I think minimum taupe or tan, if to go with lighter neutrals. This floor won't handle cooler shades next to it well enough. Yellow gold would be striking with that red, yes-having said that I really love that chocolate, but would borrow the idea of incorporating gold for ceiling treatment Agree about the bin btw, even though I'm sure it's very hygienic to use and all. ah, and agree about the towel. Doesn't have to be all red but can contain red in its pattern. It's also huge fun to choose towels..:)...See MoreHow to update this powder room?
Comments (10)I like the color! What style is the rest of your home? Depending on the rest of your home, I might do something to the vanity, if not replacing. I also suggest changing the counter. If budget allows, do a pretty stone with an undermount sink with the new faucet. Most fabricators have scraps that could easily do a powder room, and discounted psf from regular slab prices. I like to buy antique/vintage mirrors for bathrooms or have mirrors made at our local frame shop. I also hang nice art. These rooms have so little in them, it is better to go outside the box and add character. For examples, here is a close up of our master bathroom mirrors (frame shop). Current powder room - antique sconces, frame shop mirror If the towel and TP holders are worn, change those out also. I helped my sister remodel her home, and found pretty options online at Anthropologie. Used the brass Lillia accessories at her house. Good luck with your project....See Morejuliekcmo
