We purchased our Kraftmaid cabs through Lowes and didn't experience anything resembling what you're going through. A couple of days after we placed our order, the Kraftmaid rep called to let us know that our cabs were going into production. She gave us an approximate delivery date and told us that they would call when they were ready for delivery. She left her name and number w/ extension which I didn't even ask for.

When our cabs were ready(less than 3 weeks later) she called to set up delivery. We set up delivery for that Wednesday morning. The morning of the delivery, the delivery guys called to let us know they were on their way. They must have been just getting off the highway, because they were at my house ten minutes later. They carried all 39 boxes up my front steps and into my great room.

I had only a 9" pullout that was out of square, an end panel with a scratch, and 2 doors with pooled staining/finish problems. 1 of the doors was real nitpicky, only visible from a certain angle. I went to my Lowe's KD and she ordered replacements without ever needing to come out and look at them.

Again Kraftmaid called a couple of days later, to let me know my pieces were in production, etc.

They arrived a few weeks later in tip top condition.

We're very happy with our Kraftmaid purchase. We got Cherry Lynchburg Mission in the Honey Spice finish.

I've heard their glazed finishes can be a bit messy, but I'm confused about the shelves that were coming apart. Kraftmaid shelves are separate items that are adjustable, not fixed. How were they coming apart?

I'm sure there are bad experiences given its a huge company and stuff happens but we also had a good experience as described above - very similar except we didn't buy from Lowes/HD. We had one cabinet come that was not plywood and a few doors that needed replaced, which was promptly taken care of. Our glaze is lovely and a year later we are very happy with our cabinets.

Good luck getting your situation resolved - I would think it would be more of an issue via your KD or store vs. Kraftmaid as they supply the cabinets but cannot do the actual credits - that would be the store responsibility.

Just had Kraftmaid cabinets installed - Maple Ginger Glaze. They were fine, except for two doors that had minor aesthetic issues. KM sent the replacement doors promptly and with no argument.

I sell over $350,000 worth of KM every year and I usually never have to do any replacements. Maybe one door on every 3 or 4 kitchens. The ginger glaze finish is one that I have the least amount of finish issues with. You're on your 9th replacement? Do you mean that you've had all of your doors replaced 9 times, or one door replaced 9 times? That really surprises me. Do you have any pictures to post? I'm curious.

I agree with Kompy. I sell scads of KM, and while there has been the occasional door that needed replacing, or the occasional cabinet that the delivery agents dropped and was damaged, I've never had the amount of issues you're describing. You could take all of the problems I've had in the last 5 years and not add up to replacing a whole kitchen 9 times.

Love my Kraftmaid cabinets also, I had a drawer runner problem and door issue, both quickly resolved without any problem, sorry for your difficulties...I have the Cherry Rutherford doors with the black glaze. No finish issues at all.

We had a few issues with our Kraftmaid cabinets including a couple of doors that were nicked and 2 upper cabinet boxes that had a pickled effect in the wood that bled through the paint finish. All issues were promplty taken care and replaced. Kraftmaid didn't want the defective cabinets back so we have a couple of bonus cabinets (without doors) to use for storage in the basement. The finish quality overall was very good. Our cabinets have a painted finish in dove white and willow with no glaze.
