I Wish GW Had More Pages

Because the KT is so active, the history only goes back about a month.

Another forum where I lurk only,(not a warm and fuzzy place like this is) there are about 250 pages. Sure is nice searching for something with that kind of History. Especially recipes etc.

Was it a "bigger" site when it was a paid site?

No - I think it may have been smaller. Not sure when more pages were added, but there used to be a lot less!

Most of what is put here on the GW, ends up on Google and sites like that so it's worth a try finding information there.

Wow, WOW, wow to all the seating areas here! Can't pick a favorite- they are all so amazing! Great thread idea LL ;-) -goldenpond, is all of your pond man-made? It is really incredible. That paddle boat looks like such fun! -Mary_lu, Speechless. If you put a little coffee pot in that porch I would PAY RENT to stay there! What a neat idea to put the church window-like frames in it! -Susan, love the colors! I know your DH picked out the plummy color, did he pick out the rest of them too? Love em'! My two (not counting the front steps ;-) seating areas are in the backyard. Here is the big table and chairs under the flame maples. This pic is taken from the back pathway. Took it from this angle because I couldn't bear having you guys see the horrible mess I in the side garden!! Lol. Here is the patio/shade garden area. What a great thread. Foliage has always been important to me. Blossoms are nice and are a large part of the garden, but foliage is what carries it through the seasons and makes a landscape garden, instead of just a cutting garden for blossoms. When I see people's gardens on the internet usually I see a collection of close-up flower pictures. That's not a garden, it's a nursery catalog. It has no sense of 'place'. The setting is just as important as the foliage or flower in my mind. Where is it located in the garden? Also, I've noticed there seems to be just pictures of perennial foliage. That limits this Forum quite abit. What about conifers and trees I know there is a separate forum for those, but I think they should be included here too. In fact, anything without blossoms being the main part of the picture qualifies as far as I'm concerned. ""

So Cal is only about 1500 miles from my area. I keep checking CL for a nice used sofa, and keep coming across wonderful values for wood case pieces, such as this server. I think it just reflects the state of the economy; people are downsizing their living arrangements, or selling whatever they can to raise money, or, they have no idea what the piece is actually worth.

I understand they need to advertise, however it would be nice if it were just one row vs 2, it was only 1 line so that you could at least see if there are comments or not instead of having to scroll to check. I changed my zoom a little so that I can see if there are any posts to scroll down to or not.

It would be nice, but by my count The Home Site has 104 forums and The Garden Web has 202 forums. If each forum had 250 pages that would mean 76,500 pages of space on their servers! Mama Mia!!!

If memory serves me correctly, with Spike it was 30 pages total.

I thought, we used to have 25 pages...

Ever so often (I used to do it regular) I go to the last page, read it, and bring something back up, if I feel the need. :)

I've been reading the last page forward as well. Kinda neat re-reading the happenings.

I won't complain over 65 pages when it used to be a lot less. Thanks!

If people would show the courtesy to continue things in the same thread, it would allow that many more pages of info, some of which is quite valuable. But how many times do you see repeats, reminders, updates, someone starting a new thread answering a question asked in another thread, and the like. How many times do we see Remember the problem I had last week? I did something about it! then few remember what it was so everyone is confused! Even many of the ongoing threads could be continued. Wouldn't need a new one each day. Many times it would be a lot less confusing. But many people will only look at the top few posts and if they don't see it, start a new thread.

I purposely start at the back sometime when I have lots of time and I seem to have lots of time right now...GRRRRR...I miss lots cause when I'm working I don't have time to get on...67 pages is a whole bunch of reading...I may be begging ya'll to write more stuff before long!

Here's some more stuff for ya, liz GA.

It would be rather nice, though, if folks who really introduce a different topic to an ongoing thread were to start a new one.

A fault to which I must sometimes plead guilty.

I sometimes drag back something that I've found on page 67 or so, as well.

I've found it totally useless to try to use "Search", here ... brings up stuff that's totally unrelated.
