Another 2003 Christmas Card

Thankfully the cards got out on time though I'm just getting to post this now. I've had a blast working with the Outlines rubber stamps. I originally had a background paper picked out for these but it seemed too busy. Oh, and I did add additional jewels to the red medallion, I just ran out of them. Hope you enjoy!

I love it. Do you have the website for the outlines stamp? Is that the stamp used by that one lady (with an accent) that is sometimes on the Carol Duvall show? It is a great idea for next year's card.

I'm still going to try to, Minnie. I had planned to be in the KT exchange, too, but had to drop out. I recently bought a book on making 3D images, and had visions (no pun intended!) of making my Christmas cards this way, and include the cardboard red/blue glasses to view them! What a hoot from the past that would be!! I'm still collecting the gold paper from the large Hershey semisweet chocolate bars to line the inside of the Christmas envelopes - LOL! MaryAnn - I remember your watertower Christmas card with Santa! You are really creative with your cards. Have you done one in front of your town's courthouse, or schoolhouse, or firehouse, or church, or co-op (feedstore), or drive-in hangout? How about the gas station where you fill up your bike? Do you have any historic markers nearby to use as a backdrop? Any big road signs that say 'X miles to Austin' or somewhere significant? As you can see, I'm trying to think of all the "big" places in a small town. I'm looking forward to seeing what you gals come up with. Do hope you post them here!

Glad to see you again Lia. The garland that I made into the wreaths was from my after Christmas sales last year. I can't remember where I got it but there were two styles, one that looked like tiny leaves and the other was more like a tree branch. I think I got 3 wreaths out of each one. I had a few strings of the beads from the beaded tree dept but ended up string the rest myself. I had to string them and then put glue on my finger and wipe it along the string to get the beads to stay in place where I wanted them to on the wreath. My DS cut the circles in the cardstock using my old circle cutter. the newer Fiscar types just don't seem to work for me. Glad your liked it.

Thanks Minnie and Lia. I do hope that my friends and family enjoy my cards as much as I enjoy doing them. Here are the other cards that I've made. As you can see, I like water towers! LOL 2001 - the snow is wishful thinking! 2002 - My 2 youngest sons on their horses and Jammer and I on the bike. I'm already thinking about next year's card. Our town is so small that I'm really limited to themes. I'm thinking about using a picture of the church. It's been there since I was an infant and the steeple is visible from all over town. I don't think I'll have Santa driving his sleigh over the steeple, though! LOL Maybe an angel would be more apprppriate. I've also thought about the old theater that we all used to go to. It's no longer there, but I do know there is a photo somewhere of the big sign that hung outside. Lia, I'd love to help you with your card next year! But no printing!!! Oh BTW...I've ordered a new printer and computer. should be here next week!

Minnie, I'm not sure which lady it was, but there was someone on Carol's show that used an Outlines stamp as an ornament. I originally went looking for one of those and came back with a lot more than I originally planned to buy! I've included the website below, they have some great examples.

I made sets of 5 cards for my good friend and my daughters' three roommates as Christmas gifts (they're all different colors, not just the red, white and green) and they all say they don't want to use them, they want to frame them! I know that that's a compliment, but I told them to at least mail them to each other first!

Minnie....I think you mean the lady from the Canadian stamp company called Magenta......there are some similar ideas. Just went to Outlines website.....pretty cool Christmas trees. Also like the hearts, nice ideas for Valentine's day. Thanks
