Keep in mind, in architectural paints there is a 10 step color wheel, not a typical 12 step so the color relationships align differently. Bottom line is both colors work with the existing color scheme - comes down to preference and which one looks best in the room. You are definitely on the right track because the existing color scheme could use an additional color like Homberg or Plum Brown to 'round it out' and make it more cohesive, interesting.

I don't like either of your two suggested choices for the room at all. The ASB is really nice. I previously had Blue Pearl for 15 years and loved it - it would look great in that room and you would never tire of it. I have Volga Blue now and really, really think it would make your room "pop" with the fabulous blue mica chunks. No more than it appears you need, you might fare really well going to all granite yards and granite fabricators in your area to see if they have partial slabs of any of these in their boneyard. We got a gorgeous partial slab of Verde San Francisco for our laundry room for about $5/sq. ft. from a boneyard (plus fabrication, of course). Our English Bull Terriers vote for something blue, for sure! One of them absolutely can read a clock - she tells us (emphatically) when it is 6:00 p.m. for her Greenie toothbrush. Our dogs sleep in our bed, too. I'm sure we are not the only ones that have to remind our dogs that this is OUR king sized bed, not yours, so let us have some room to stretch, please! Your dog room is creative and fantastic... you and your fur babies will so enjoy it!

You have a play of light/dark....[ backsplash/light quartz] . However, then you have a medium tone inserted into your palette with cabinets and floor. I think you might be well served by getting back to what is most compelling in your preference. Light/dark contrast is perfectly acceptable in kitchens. Also, one can do a monochromatic mid tone kitchen where the total effect stays in that midrange for harmony......esp. in small spaces. You are moving along both of these paths here. Not a violation, but you achieve a "miss". Cabinets look nice-they are the most costly....I might go back and work with those in regards the counter/backsplash options. Personally, I'd start over with floor/counters and backsplash as I find them ho-hum with your nice cabinets.

You need new lighting before anything. Get LEDS in daylight color so anything from 3500 - 5000 k will make your colors look the same at night as they do in the daylight. Your yellow cast lighting is waht is wrong.
