Comments (23)Frank did you check out durham furniture--also solid wood and made by orville and meade? Check out the Chateu Fontaine stuff from Durham its like the louis philip' stuff you'll see at macy's but better quality for reasonable price. They have the LP style dressers and stuff and a panel bed with lower foot board. http://www.durhamfurniture.com/products.php?product_id=106 Their website is cheesy looking but I assure you it doesn't do the furniture justice. From the Orville and meade line, the Lorainne (Phillip) collection has the sleigh bed but the end is relatively low as far as sleighs go. http://www.orvilleandmead.com/products.php?product_id=1052 There's the euro bed too, but not sure if you'd dig the curves. (but lower bed) I also saw the lincon heights stuff in a higher end furniture store in chicago area and it looked really nice. They may have even had the bed paired with the Phillip stuff. Solid wood, nice rubbed finish. http://www.orvilleandmead.com/collections.php?category_id=1006 I'm not affiliated with either outfit, but can't say enough about them for the price point. You can check out Nichols and Stone too. Pretty cheesy site, but decent furniture. May have been the stuff you saw at macy's. Good Luck....See MoreVaughan-Bassett Furniture - Quality?
Comments (2)I purchased a queen-sized bed and a chest in their Elvis Presley line, and I love it. It was very well made, sturdy with beautiful woods. I would not hesitate to buy from them in the future. I hope this helps....See MoreBassett furniture custom sofa
Comments (1)I bought a custom sectional from Bassett 3 years ago thinking Made in America was the way to go. I have been very disappointed. It was an expensive piece, but the cushions are already looking flat and the fabric quickly pilled and looks much older than it is. Bassett replaced the seat covers and the pilling occurred again. The sofa doesn't really sit that comfortably, either. Obviously, I don't plan to purchase any other upholstered pieces from Bassett ....See MoreHas anyone had a positive experience with Bassett Furniture?
Comments (2)I really like Basset for their quality and price point. Also, really good sales! We have a 15+ year old BR suite which we still love and has held up fine, and we recently bought a gorgeous custom leather sofa from Basset. There was a snafu when the sofa was delivered-it was san tacks that were ordered-but they made it right and offered for us to keep the wrong sofa (which we declined) while awaiting the correct delivery. I'd buy from them again....See Moresusie100
