Recommend product for stripping lacquer from stone floors

Hello,
I have an Arizona flagstone floor coated with Glaze n Seal "Wet Look" Lacquer. The ice machine broke, flooded the kitchen, and now I have ruined flaking lacquered stone floors. I would like to strip it off (one stone at a time) and reseal. What is the best product to use to do this? I can't find any local seller of lacquer stripper, but I can find lacquer thinner. Will paint and varnish stripper work?

Will I have to use lacquer again to reseal the stones, or can I use something that chips less easily, like eggshell polyurethane?

Renee
